two guys who occupy the street corner on the main drag of south park. a wise, soft-spoken homeless dude who never seems to age and a nasally-voiced fire and brimstone street preacher who won’t shut up about the end times.

from his place in the pasture, stanley often found himself staring into the future.

he’d been a very pretty-looking boy once. his frame had been carved in softly-squared lines. broadness married tenderness in stanley marsh. he was a strong, healthy boy with downy black lashes and a round, dimpled chin. the classicists would have recognized the boy as an athenian of sorts.

but there were no classicists in south park, colorado.

and stanley did not see a pretty-looking boy when he saw his sweat-soaked image trapped in the rusted chrome exterior of his trailer.

no matter where he stood, he could always make out the reflection of the curved dirt road leading back to the farm.

LORE DROP:

stan co-owns the small inherited family (on his late mother’s side) dairy farm with his dad. he lives by himself in a small trailer on the property. no fucking way he’s gonna LIVE with his dad. randy’s been growing reefer on the side since the fucking 1930s. business has only gotten better in the 26 years since he started. first came the down-on-their-luck white trash townsfolk. then it was the shell-shocked and wide-eyed returning soldiers. then, the beatniks. so on. things are only get better. stan’s indulging in his father’s vices. he’s in denial about it. he gets a little more randy-ish as he gets older. hmmm…

i’m gonna be so real this is something i mashed out on tumblr mobile AFTER drawing the picture. i just wanted to draw a half-naked shirtless hairy muscular fat guy. farmin’. but i mean this is important for world-building…stan’s lore and whatnot…

HEHE ooo! okay! well, unfortunately for many, cartman becomes the town’s youngest mayor in 1957 at the age of 32. take that as you will…

also, the mccormick and broflovski parents are immigrants. stuart and carol(ine) came over from ireland as teenagers (1910s) and met through their shared connections in america. gerald was a little boy when his family came from poland for better opportunities (1890s), and sheila came as a teenager with her family, fleeing from the pogroms in the russian empire (1910s). she and gerald attended the same synagogue in denver and the shadchan set them up. love at first sight.

kyle got his first name from the surname of the gentile doctor who delivered him.

kind of wondering what i should call tolkien in this au considering that his canonical name wouldn’t make sense for someone born in the 1920s. i want to do something equally clever (possibly a literary name that starts with a T. his father is still a very wealthy erudite farmer dork.)

what’s the overall plot behind your au?? are there any pairings?? 🙏🙏

so! my plan is to write a little anthology of short episodic stories spanning around three decades. out of order, but the overall thing is based around this idea that the town itself is literally inescapable. people move in and they don’t leave. people move out but they always come back. it’s not something to be fought. it’s just fact.

anywho, that concept leaves a lot of room for me to play with the town’s weirdness. as for ships, nothing’s set in stone. i will say that because this au spans multiple decades, there are a number of opportunities to consider.
