Thanks to @authorfahy who has tagged me on this. I am using an old selfie as I won’t lie, this quarantine has got me with a messy hair bun, no makeup, tracks a tank (of course no bra…do women even wear them at home?!). Without further ado, here are the 5 things about me. ⠀ ⠀ 1🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m a mommy to a 5-year-old child who’s umbilical cord was never removed (okay, the physical one was but mentally still attached). They are currently right by my desk chair on their iPad being “quiet” - singing from the top of their lungs - giving me the office peace I need. Would I change any of it? Nope, never!🥰 ⠀ 2🙋🏻‍♀️ My debut novel, The Complicated Journey to Love, was supposed to be out in February but life has gotten in the way, and now this virus that will affect my editing budget. BUT I am trying my hardest to have it available to you by May/June. I love you all and thank you for your amazing patience! ⠀ 3🙋🏻‍♀️I first went to college for Musical Theatre but had to drop out due to a surgery near my tail bone. Then went back to college for police foundations (graduated with honours), and then accounting – which is ironically where I found my passion for creative writing! Thank you, Leanne, my English prof!  I use everything I learnt from all my schooling into what I write (it definitely helped with My Sweet Beth!) ⠀ 4🙋🏻‍♀️I met my husband in a small-town Pizza Hut, where we both used to work at. I didn’t like him AT ALL. If it wasn’t for a little girl dropping sprinkles we probably wouldn’t here together today. You can read more about it on my blog. ⠀ 5.🙋🏻‍♀️I suffer from PCOS, anxiety, and severe depression. #RaiseAwareness There are days where it takes every bit of my strength to just get up and function solely to get my child their essentials. ♥️🥰Happy Valentine's Day!🥰♥️ . . . 💘👉🏼What are your plans for this weekend?👈🏼💘 . . . I am going to focus on starting my first draft editing of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 after I finish my last couple of chapters (rewrites, etc.) and adding a new section. :)😍 . . . Xaviar has no school today, so he is home with me right now. That means, distracts all day (The good kind nonetheless).   . . . . . . ♥️🤓So to still be productive this morning, I am working on the business side of things. 🥰Hi, Y'all! 🥰 Damn, I've missed you, and I hope you've missed me too.😭♥️ . . As most of you know, I have been extremely ill and finally just recovering from it. 🌨🌬 Has winter kicked anyone else's ass this year? Starting today until Monday night, I am glueing my ass to my desk chair (or Starbucks table) and getting this first draft done to begin revisions and editing!!! I can't believe today makes five years that I was in the hospital room getting induced, and singing with headphones on, waiting for your arrival - you, my baby, that changed my life forever. As a mother, it was my duty (and your father's of course) to teach you all the life lessons I could; lessons of right from wrong, compassion, how to listen etc. But what no parenting book could ever prepare me for is that lessons you would teach me. Thank you, my love, for teaching me how to be the best version of a mother I can be, for showing me that no matter the advice and knowledge I get given, not everyone's journey is the same. You taught me that loving you and listening to you would be the best step to raising you into being the perfect human I have ever laid my eyes on. You have taught me strength, love, compassion, and to always love others, no matter how they treat you. You, my baby, you, a kindergarten who has been poked fun of for wearing a Poppy costume, but still go to school with a great big smile eagerly happy to help anyone and everyone. Thank you for loving me unconditionally, especially on the days where my depression is kicking my ass like an MMA fighter, and I am crying while we are playing dolls. These are the days I live for - the days where you wipe my tears and tell me how much you love me. The days where I feel worthless, and you call me your beautiful queen. At just five years old, you have saved my life many times with just a smile, a hug, and kiss - you saved me by you, our little creation. Hello My Loves, I hope 2020 is treating you well so far; we are already on day three - wow! I have to ask, what are the goals you're looking to smash this year? A couple of mine are you to finish the final part of the𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 and start editing with my editor. I felt hung up with on the "negatives" and the unaccomplished of my 2019. I struggled (and still struggle) a lot with my depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts (that sometimes arise) - I know I am not alone, but the war inside myself is indescribable. Today, however, I stared at my self-made logo cup of coffee and all the positives reeled through my mind like a movie. . . . Holy Fuck Y'all... 2019 was a fantastic year for the start of my writing career! . . . I revamped my website twice, had my blogs read around the world (fun fact: only 8% of my readers were from my homeland - Canada), entered my first writing contest, and almost done my first novel. . . . If that wasn't enough, you, yes, YOU, are the icing to my yummy 2019 cake. Thank you for honouring me with your presence, support, and kindness. Thank you so all the writer friends I've met, learnt from, and look up to always. Each one of you is a blessing in my life. . . .
