It worries her when you seem distant. It saddens her when you ignore her texts. It breaks her heart when you no longer care. but at the same time, it strengthens her. through the sleepless nights she spends thinking of you; through the exhausting days she spends trying to act normal when all she wants to do is burst into tears; through all the negative thoughts of the worst things she feared to happen through the battle of her fragile heart and stubbornness to keep you close to her - even though you ignore her. She breaks down. But as strong as she is supposed to be, she will rise. She will blossom again and learn her worth. And when she blossoms one day; maybe she will matter to you like she used to. But darling you will be a little too late. it is when another man finally sees and understands what she needs the most that she becomes much more valuable to you; and you will long for her yet you shall learn from her because by the time she will matter to you; it will not matter to her anymore.
Happy birthday mama... Your perseverance, strength, optimism and realism never cease to amaze me every day; and day by day I'm always inspired to be a woman as good as you are. You might not be the "cool mom" who goes out to malls, hangs out with your friends, travels abroad with your BFFs but for me you're the coolest mom ever and I'm so lucky and privileged to be your children.
