a/n: this is my first piece of writing after a loong hiatus, hopefully yall like it. I just started school so Iāve been busy as hell, and it looks like Iāll only be writing/posting when I have breaks from school, so sorry about that!!! to say you were proud of tom was a huge understatement. having been dating him for only a year, youād only attended one premiere with him so far, the endgame premiere a couple months before far from home, so you were super excited (to say the least) to attend his premiere.Ā
of course, being the center of a movie on this large of a scale, tom couldnāt help but feel the nerves creep up. thankfully, he had you. he couldnāt imagine getting through this premiere without you, hell, he couldnāt even imagine getting through life without you. tom never had a problem with the people in his life keeping him grounded, his family constantly kept him humble, and they made sure of it.Ā
but there was just something about you that was a constant reminder of the humility he always strives to keep, even as his career skyrockets. he had fallen in love with someone who led a normal life, for lack of a better term. your life was never a life of fame, and tom admired that so much. thatās why everyday he thanked his lucky stars he had you by his side, and today was no different.Ā
as nelli and her team put the finishing touches on his burgundy suit (which he looked absolutely stunning in), he took one more look in the mirror, stressfully inhaling and exhaling.
he didnāt know why he was feeling so nervous, he had gone through this process plenty of times before. far from home was his favorite film yet, the one that meant the most to him, so he felt as if there was a lot more riding on this film.
he held in all this tension until you appeared from the bathroom, immediately sensing his stress. he took in the sight of you as you walked up to him, melting into your touch when you wrapped your arms around his neck.
you knew he didnāt want everyone to know how nervous he was, so you whispered your comforting words into his ear.Ā
āwhatās wrong, bub?āĀ
you felt his calloused hands snake around your waist, completely giving in.Ā
āi dunno love, just suddenly feelinā a little nervous.ā
Ā he barely got the words out, chuckling and hanging his head down as he spoke. he didnāt tell you the whole truth, that he was feeling so nervous that a small part of him wanted to blow off the premiere and stay in with you, but he didnāt have to. you both knew that, asking him what was wrong was just a formality.Ā
āthereās no reason to be nervous tom. i know you love the film with all your being, i do too. it seriously is the best spiderman film ever, you and i both know that. people are going to love it just as much as you do bub. you even got the approval from rdj, the man himself!
trust me, thereās nothing to be nervous about. plus, youāll have me there right there with you every step of the way. remember, turn nerves into excitement.ā
like always, your words brought him back to earth. you knew him like the back of your hand, and vice versa, so you always knew the right thing to say, even if it wasnāt something heād want to hear. in this case, it was.Ā
tom smiled and chuckled at your words. he thought back on when he first heard that advice, pondering the meaning. it was at moments like these when he thought to himself how lucky he was to have you.
letting your words linger in his head, he sank into your touch further, pulling you even closer to his chest. the two of you stood there for a moment, completely wrapped in each other, taking each other in. his silence didnāt worry you, you knew he was okay. what was worrying you was the fact that if you stood there for a minute longer, youād be late.Ā
when he finally pulled away, he couldnāt help but smile at you. his eyes looked deeply into yours and the corners of his mouth creeped up, his non-verbal way of saying thank you. you leaned up on your tip toes to give him a loving and gentle kiss, smiling against his lips. he took one hand away from your waist to cup your cheek as he returned the kiss, never wanting to pull away.
the clock was working against you however, as you pulled away from each other when you heard nelli clear her throat a few feet away from you. when you finally let go of tomās lips, you both turned to her and blushed when she gave you a look of warning.Ā
āas much as i love you two, please wrap it up. we really gotta get going.āĀ
you looked back at tom and giggled, pulling him closer to you as he apologized to nelli.Ā
he took you in one last time, letting out a breath of relief. he pressed a small kiss to your forehead, lingering there for a minute.Ā
āi love you so much darlin.ā
āi love you too bub.āĀ
he pulled away from you, grabbing his phone from the small coffee table in the middle of the room and shoving it in his pocket while you grabbed your clutch purse. you made your way back over to tom, interlocking your fingers with his as the two of you admired yourselves in the mirror one last time. you lock eyes with each other through the mirror and you give him an encouraging smile.Ā

he repeats the words back to you, squeezing your hand slightly.
