emotional abuse from mother

emotional abuse from mentor

emotional abuse from father

verbal abuse from mother

verbal abuse from mentor

physical abuse from mother

witnessed her mother murder her first love

emotional abuse from husband

loss of freedom at the age of 18

loss of hope at the age of 18 

been alone since 18 

probably rape at 18 (but we can disregard since not canon) 

never experienced real love since daniel 

her own son didn’t love for a while 

tortured by greg & co. 

lost son for a whole fucking year

regina has only known abuse and pain pretty much her whole life so much that she began to believe that was the only way to live. She tortured people and murdered and manipulated. She inflicted pain on others to get rid of her own. Regina recognizing that she’s been through all of that shit is not Regina “feeling sorry for herself” it’s Regina recognizing that she’s been through some shit. Regina is a survivor whether you like it or not. This is not me apologizing for her because yeah, she’s a straight up murderer and even she agrees. I don’t have to apologize for Regina Mills because she has apologized enough for herself. Can you say the same about other such “villains”?
