Hello #ssoblr! SSO dev here!

Every now and again SSE runs a special work week called "Passion week". During this week the devs don't have to focus on normal production and can work on whatever they feel most passionate about at the time (of course with some ties to the product, but still with a lot of room for innovation). This has brought multiple innovations to the table and many of those have actually made it into the game.

A few examples are show jumping, snow and photo mode, but these are just some of the features mentioned in official channels (blog post, instagram).

So some background about me... I've worked as a gameplay programmer at Star Stable for a few years now. I write code, and create various features and systems. Last project I worked on that got released was the home stable customization!

With that said, I'd like to try something different now for the upcoming passion week, and ask for inspiration by players here on tumblr!

Please tag me, and throw whatever quality of life feature you would like to see in the game, big or small, my way! ✨

Prototype for our “””simulator””” horse controller for PC. Currently playable with pixel studio engine games. Next prototype will use Pi Pico MCU, two feet pedals and two joystick modules. Controller will use USB HID so no drivers needed and there will be a table mount for the controller. Also, string will be replaced with actual reins(or similar feeling strap). We have been toying with a idea of adding stirrups and saddle but those would be maybe possible in somewhere later versions. (Big maybe). Current setup is suboptimal, we’re using “submarine” controller and DDR dance mat. Time to do some CAD modelling.
