she saw him standing, cold and alone

lost in the wreckage which was his own

no quinn no temptress, just his empty heart

which was no longer beating and needed a start

she grabbed him by the collar and cried out

pushing his face into shadows and clouds

making it clear to him what he had done

so that his start would be a truly new one

he turned to her and fell to his knees

broken and scared, only asking "please"

she pulled him to his feet and smiled

"let's go, mister j. it's going to be wild."

she chased him through the darkest nights

knowing only with him did her heart take flight

she lived for the pain and swore she was fine

not seeing the sudden shifts in his mind

betrayal was the one unexpected thing

that left her confused and stirring

she clung to him and begged for time

anything she could do to be in his life

he stared at her, empty and gone

and drowned her in his poison

his smile - painted with my hot tears and her red lies

his eyes - wide and wild with an empty disguise

there was a ruthless fear hidden inside

like a wounded animal trying to hide

his words - sharp whips that left black scars

his heart - camoflauged in the mad house's art

those walls would soon be broken and torn

and a fresh smile would then be worn

my mother raised me with a heart of gold

my father taught me never to fold

from her, i learned kindness and merit

from him, i learned to have an unbroken spirit

forgiveness is my greatest virtue

mercy as deep and wide as the skies of blue

with that comes patience over time

loving fully without reason or rhyme

most do not understand my ways

for i have been logic based for all of my days

when faced with true malignance

i find my soul with powerful radiance

to defend and protect the one i love

and stop at nothing to rise above

mistakes were made that night

it was merely a brief moment we shared

two people who nobody else thought cared

about the way your eyes held my own

the curiosity and need for answers to be known

thirty minutes with my fingers on your skin

yet that simple touch of your knee caused a spin

the spark flew when in that moment i froze

the silence broken by someone’s voice

yet that thought was still the louder noise
