Lucifer watched her go and then got to work on heating the soup as directed. Losing himself in the simple act of working. He mused on how lovely it was to have someone who cared so much, to protect you like that.
It was about an hour or so when Caleb made his way back. “Hey… Ready to turn in? Things are winding down out there…”
Lucifer looked up from the pans he’d been washing, having finished with te soups some time before. “Of course, on your word.”
“Lets go.” Caleb smiled, offering his hand. “I believe groceries are next on the to-do list.”
“Groceries!” He took Caleb’s hand, lifted it and kissed the back of it and tugged him towards the exit. “I would like some cake.”
