I’ve seen a few videos like this, with a swan or duck apparently “feeding” fish but that’s not at all what is happening. Waterfowl generally eat their food wet, so when they are fed dry chow in a bowl like above, rather than floating pellets they can skim, they will scoop up a bill full of food and dip it into the water to try to wet it. Fish, particularly koi, are clever enough to realize the swan will put food into the water that they can gobble up. This is why you see the swan trying to swim away from the fish before dropping the food into the water. It’s trying to have a bite to eat and is having its food stolen.
