Inka Rewrite - All about Ink

You know about ink. It's the main thing that makes Splatoon itself! But what if there were some other uses for it than what we're shown? Well that's what we're gonna talk about!

Some of ink's other uses:

Other than the common and basic uses such as turf war and yada yada, there’s…

- An inkfish-friendly substitute for water in many cases (with limitations) ↑[Following this, you can drink it to hydrate] - Used to bathe (instead of water) - (more will be added)

Variations:

Normal/basic

- Basic ink. No special/unique properties.

Synthetink

- An artificial ink-like substance that can be used by anyone, including non-inkfish. - Functions the exact same as basic ink, though not recommended for drinking.

Glitter ink

- Basic ink, but with glitter spread throughout it. - The glitter’s color and patterns it forms can change. - While it is pretty, it isn’t that great to drink, compared to basic ink. That glitter will never get out of your system. - Able to mix with synthetink, or be created with it.

Low-tide ink

- Basic ink, but with the special property of being able to snap people out of mind effects, such as hypnosis, trances, and/or weak mind control. ↑[Following this, remember, hypnosis is not the same as mind control or brainwashing! The low-tide ink just has a variety of uses] - Able to mix with synthetink, or be created with it.

Sanitized ink

- An ink version of sanitized sludge, which is made of blended sanitized inklings and octolings. - Sanitized ink has the ability to start spreading sanitization to someone upon contact, however it is only able to complete part of the sanitization process on its own. - Due to ink’s liquid state, it can easily spread across surfaces via weapons and contaminate everything it touches. - Unable to mix with synthetink, or contaminate it. Sanitization ink formula/s A sub-type of sanitized ink. These variations are injected into a victim directly, instead of making contact with just the skin. Different variations can have different effects. Such as changing the “flavor” of the victim. (Thanks Star you fucking suck)

Fuzzy/contaminated ink

- Fuzzy ink is basic ink, but contaminated by fuzzy ooze. Meaning it is just as, if not more dangerous than normal fuzzy ooze. - Due to it being in an almost completely liquid state, it can easily spread across surfaces via weapons and contaminate everything it touches. - Unable to mix with synthetink, or contaminate it.

Amalga-ooze “ink”

- A combination of fuzzy ooze and sanitized sludge/ink. - While it should be impossible to make in theory, some say it has been created already… - If you find any of this amalga-ooze… - Run.

A thing abt Inka Pearl

From what I can see, Shiver is the only one out of the three here to not have her clan’s crest anywhere on her outfit here.

For inka Shiver, the reason behind this is that she truly no longer wishes to be a part of the Hohojiro clan. More specifically, her close family. This is what bad parenting and ruthless training can do to a kid. Mentally fuck them up for the rest of their life.

Some Inka Frye facts

- Frye has a BUNCH of cute little trinkets like keychains and tiny spoons, mostly due to the pushy employees at the Scorch Gorge gift shop.

- Frye likes to see what parts of stages that are normally inaccessible or off limits she can reach or get to. (Like the ramen bowl at Robo ROM-en, and the bird cage thingies at scorch gorge.)

- Frye LOVES custard and custard-filled sweets.

- Frye has the ability to completely remove all color from her fingertips, and make the rest of her skin desaturated if she wanted to.

(The only exception to this is when she gets sick, her skin will get slightly desaturated involuntarily. Making it easy to tell.)

- Frye’s favorite sport is bowling.

- Frye’s second favorite color is blue. Her first favorite color being Yellow (obviously)

- She also didn’t mean anything at all when she said “Oh, I should’ve known pathetic nobodies were your type!”, during Suffer No Fools (referring to Marina). She just wanted to annoy Pearl.*

i ADORE this project so much, i love these headcanons n ships (even tho i barely ship splatoon chars other than like, casual pearlina lol. calrina is adorable though...) and all the designs are so cutttteeeee <3 please keep up the amazing work !!

Inka Rewrite Side Order Dialogue stuff: Deep Cut (all together) edition!

To celebrate the announcement of Splatoon Raiders! (I started making this last Tuesday as of 6/16/25)

(Only obtainable after clearing all three of their palletes!!!)

Shiver: You two remember when we were in school? Some of the best and worst days of my life, it felt like.

Frye: Yeah! Some pretty fun days were back then!

Shiver: Oh, Eight! You wanna know a fun fact? On our high school graduation day, Frye and I ended up fighting a few kids who were bugging Big Man.

Frye: Shiv, it was in the middle of us singing the anthem, and you got shot straight in the face by some jerk’s weak as hell charger. And weren’t you grounded for WEEKS because of the whole fight?

Shiver: Mhm. Fond memories. Damn Charger shot hurt like hell. But at least I didn’t splat on stage… would have embarrassed me like mad.

Big Man: Ay… ay ay. Ay ay, ay ay. (Yeah… Thankfully you were okay despite that charger shot. And you immediately sic’d Master Mega on all those who bothered me, along with Frye and her eels.)

Shiver: Master Mega scared the hell out of the bully at the graduation ceremony, AND my parents later on when they tried to yell at me, so I only ended up having to be grounded for 1 week.

Shiver: …but I also snuck out, so even less than that.

Big Man: Ay ay! Ayayay…. (I do appreciate you two always sticking up for me back then! You two are the best. But I was sad that you two got in so much trouble because of the fight….)

Frye: Was worth it though! No one from the school ever bothered you again, right?

Big Man: Ay! …..Ay ay ay. (Yeah! …..because it was our last day.)
