Alright they had a good run, proud of Bretty for making it this far. No way they're winning this but gonna yap about them a bit because what they got going on is wild.

So, I nominated them with the disclaimer that they aren't technically divorced, however I'm obsessed with their Schrodinger's Marriage. Wiki lists them as being estranged spouses, which isn't... wrong? But isn't accurate either, as they aren't legally married anymore. They're technically... widowed? Legally speaking? Betty died which voided the marriage, and Bruce tried to propose again to get remarried but he did it immediately after Betty had broken out of brainwashing and just ended up pushing her further away. Because he proposed when she was basically trying to break up with him. They're awful.

They never did get remarried after this, so they aren't married, and they have a weird on and off thing, but they definitely have not been in a consistent relationship by any means after this point. They are not together. Despite this, they still refer to each other as husband and wife. They never refer to each other as their exes, despite very much acting like messy exes. They're both married and not married depending on how you look at it, since they never ended their marriage. They're so weird.

Also their marriage was so bad and had so many problems and I also think they get points for having a godawful wedding where they hurriedly had the ceremony with a mere two witnesses and Betty's dad crashed the wedding and shot the best man, Rick, while he was trying to disarm him and they finished their vows while Rick was bleeding out in the aisle because he insisted that they finish the ceremony before getting him to the hospital.

But anyway I'm just gonna share some of my favorite post-divorce "oh my god what is their problem" panels. Truly who is doing it like them.

THE PLOT.

All stories are written somewhere. In the physical sense, yes, but also in the metaphysical one. In the thousand of universes out there, the ones with or without magic, with or without powers, there exists a… Library, of sorts. Somewhere everyone's lives are recorded, where you can pick up your book and read in detail how you were born, how you will die, and every single thought that has ever passed by your head. The library doesn't limit itself to real stories, though. It wants everything. Mary Shelley wrote about Frankenstein, but she also thought about three different endings to it, and all of them are recorded, as well as all the different fanfics, theories, and studies about them. There are books upon books about the different versions of Batman, versions and translations about every single detail of Captain America's story, written by official writers, fans, thoughts by children watching the movies over their parent's shoulders, and so many more. In the middle of all of that, there is a blank book. It didn't know what it wanted to record, not yet, didn't feel like committing to a single person or character. In the middle of so many fellows dedicated to single subjects, it decided to… branch out. It decided it wanted to know what would happen if it picked different versions of different characters, and put them all together. If the characters weren't contained by simple things such as "timeline", "characterization" or "lore-accuracy". It wanted to see… everything.

The Book is a multiversal artifact with its own mind and force of will. Events and staff-taken actions will be portrayed and things the book does to get the characters it's collected moving and interacting.

Unless stated otherwise, characters being dropped or picked are all actions taken in-universe the other characters can react to. The same counts for events, and hiatuses.
