so, on june 14, I finished AJW's "you weren't meant to be human".

and in that same day, Oliver Tree died in a helicopter crash and Daveigh Chase (the Ring girl) died bc of septic shock and meningitis

this HoL headcanon is gonna sound batshit insane, but i like to headcanon that Pelafina was born around the same time John Cassavetes was born.

John Cassavetes (December 9, 1929 - February 3, 1989) was known to make films, a small couple of them focusing on very troubled women, like A Woman Under the Influence (1974) or Opening Night (1977), and maybe even Gloria (1980).

In fact, in Gloria, the film is about a woman (Gloria Swenson, played by Gene Rowlands) trying to keep a child (Phil Dawn, played by John Adames) safe by threat of shooting anyone that gets an inch closer to her.

Gloria reflects Pelafina HEAVILY. Pelafina is known for being worried about Johnny, being concerned that he is going to get in trouble, and her insistent longing to see him again.

Pelafina makes sure Johnny is safe as Gloria is for Phil.

John Cassavetes was born in 1929, and died in 1989.

Pelafina died in 1989, but only three months and a day off

TL;DR: Cassavetes made films about troubled/suffering women and Pelafina could've been born around the same time as he was cuz of some half-coincidences I found.

take this with a grain of salt cuz idk if Danielewski even knows about Cassavetes, but thats just my lengthy thought/headcanon.

I could try n connect Pelafina with Rowlands but im going with Cassavetes for now
