Jade’s initial instinct was to protest. She wasn’t qualified to work in an office, knowing nothing about that kind of thing. It didn’t take long for him to convince her, though, not when she needed the money so badly. She spent far too long getting ready, wanting to ensure she looked professional, even asking Amelia’s opinion. The little girl approved of the black skirt that landed just at Jade’s knees with the dark blue blouse and blazer with matching blue heels. Getting to the building, she checked in at the front, heading straight to James’ office.
