I'm listening to this right now, remembering when my best friends and I used to listen to these guys on full blast.
We didn't care- they were a boy band and we created our own dance to this song.
We sucked BIG TIME. But we had fun! #throwback #bffs #YeahIStillCantDance

The More You Know...
The more you know... You know, it’s that phrase that everyone has heard sung on public television growing up. It’s a phrase that I can’t help but sing out loud.
I digress, but the gist is this: we’re always growing, always learning new things in life, and I love that about us.
But, there are a few things that I feel that we haven’t learned.
Like how to be polite (you know, when you’re out in public).
I’ve been reading way too many of those “I can’t believe an adult did this,” and “Wait till you hear about this grown human blowing up at another one,” lists on Facebook. We can be utter and total jerks. We throw more temper tantrums as adults than I think we did as kids. I mean it.
Getting upset over not getting enough sauces?! Yelling at someone because you’ve invaded their personal space? Threatening a teacher because your child is failing or not actually doing their school work or homework?
Really people? Do we really have to be this petty? Don’t we have more important things to worry about? Like children and adults going hungry? Veterans going without health care or, I don’t know...homes?
What about kids living on the streets? What about the elderly who are abused and die because of negligence from their caregivers (or takers, in these instances)? What about the millions of children living in foster care (because you know, all kids are wanted)?
What about the soldiers who are struggling with PTSD? The mothers who are dealing with depression? The neighbor you have who’s struggling with suicide, or cutting, or... who knows what?
We live in a world where our teachers aren’t paid enough to deal with thirty plus students; where sports are more important than actual education; where kids are graduating without knowing how to change a tire, file taxes, etc.?
This is our world; let’s be the change instead of complaining about what’s wrong with the world? I know I don’t usually post heavy things, but I had to get this off my chest. The next post will probably be more light-hearted!
Enjoy your day, guys, and remember that we’re not the center of the universe!
Coffee
Ohhh, that wonderful, hot, smoldering liquid that helps us get through each day. Ahh, I can almost taste it. Well...I can almost taste the creamer. I recently saw a picture that said something along the lines of, “I thought I’d fallen in love with coffee, turns out I’m in love with creamer.” It was hilarious, and since I’m currently out of coffee, I decided that I’d make a short post as an ode to coffee. That, and my computer is dying and I’m dying from a lack of sleep. Seriously, I’ve had to re-type like five words already. I think I’ve only typed sixty or seventy (if I’m lucky).
So...coffee. We all know the feelings that swell within us any time we think of it. Whether we like it strong, black, creamy and sweet, or chilled as a frappe, coffee affects us all. Some of us can drink it at any time; while others of us must cut off our coffee consumption before 3 in the afternoon (not me, cough).
Coffee unites us. It brings a happy ending to a meal; helps us open up and get to know someone better. It makes breakfast worth eating (in my opinion), and it heralds the hopeful start of a good day. Without coffee, some of us are just strangers always cranky and sleepy. Coffee is the go-to for someone who’s partied too hard. It’s the go-to for war torn mothers and fathers who are struggling to make sleep go further (ever try going through life on five hours of sleep over the course of three days? Coffee is where it’s at, man!). It’s a language that most of us speak (my husband is coffee-blind), and it’s not a difficult skill to learn, but a tough one to master.
Anyway, I’m going to go for now. My brain is now centered on getting itself some coffee, and my computer is aching to be charged. I hope y’all have a great Monday (considering it’s...Monday), and I hope your coffee is brewed how you like it, as creamy as you want it (or not), and as sweet as you like it (or don’t). If you drink coffee black, then I especially salute you. You’re my hero, and thankfully, not my idol. I don’t ever want to drink black coffee on purpose.
Bye, guys!

This. This is so true. There’s so many stories, so many characters, so many dreams that are floating around in my head. I’m afraid that if I share that with people, they’ll think I’m a freak. No lie. I’m afraid to share this deeply creative part of me, because in some ways it’s highly controversial.
But isn’t that life? Don’t we go through controversial things? I just want to feel like I can share my creative ideas and thoughts and hopes and dreams and maybe...maybe someone will get it..or heck, be inspired by it!
For kicks and giggles...
So, I’m working on a book. No surprise.
But I’m kinda falling short.
So.... how do you get over writer’s block?! (or a creative block, if you don’t write)

Do You Know Where It Goes?
So, recently, my husband was telling me about a scenario that came up in a text group he’s a part of. They’re awesome friends, but sometimes, they come up with the funniest topics. This just so happened to not really be one of them. I mean, it’s kind of silly, just because it’s about a fictional universe, but it got me thinking about real possible ideas. Here’s what happened:
The guys (as I shall refer to them from here onward) were talking about Star Trek, and it just so happened that one of our closest friends (let’s call him Ioan) had brought up the idea of what happened to all of the missed shots taken in space fights. What about all that laser fire, ion cannon shots, and whatever else they had in their armory-you can comment about it below, and we can continue the discussion there? What about those MISSES?
Ioan theorized that maybe, the Enterprise, and any and all other Federation ships, could have possibly caused the demise of other planets, or even possibly, war with other species because of those missed hits.
Here’s what I got (at about 11pm, and that’s important because evidently I’m smart when I’m really tired). First, let’s talk about the shields. Are they made to block a certain type of energy (or heat), light, or possibly sound? And why are the lasers fired at said ships usually red? They obviously don’t seem to have much of an effect on the shields, seeing as how you usually have to shoot the ship a LOT. And I mean A. LOT. Once you have a grasp on the shields, then you can go on to talk about the laser fire and ion cannons (for sanity’s sake, these are the only two weapons we’ll discuss here. Comment down below to talk about more).
Why are the lasers red? What is the main property of the ion cannons (as I never had a grasp on that, except that they were supposed to be more powerful)? Why do they shoot lasers and ion cannons? Why are the lasers and ion cannons different colors? How is it that they haven’t changed the properties in the laser fire to match the effectiveness of the ion cannons?
Okay, enough questions. These are just ones I don’t have answers to. But, here’s another thought: If the lasers are red because they are a certain temperature, then it’s safe to assume they don’t have to be that hot, and are thus a close-range type of weapon. Then maybe, the ion cannons are a blue because they are a long-range type of weapon. This would help make the colors difference make sense. The lasers wouldn’t have to be as hot as the ion cannons because they’re used for close-range (to compare, a pistol vs. a sniper rifle), where as the ion cannons are used for long-range attacks.
So, if that’s the case, and the shields are used to block the (heat) energy of the ion and laser fire, then we can start to calculate (I’m not doing that here, I’m not a scientist) the range of impact of the laser fire and the ion cannons. In space, we know that there’s no regulation of temperature; hence, why we need space suits. Since we know that (from what we’ve heard of second-hand from astronauts, and either they’re all lying, or that’s really the truth), we can figure out that the red lasers would not have as long/wide a range of impact as the blue ion cannon shots that get fired.
Now, taking all of this information and putting it together, we can figure out that the possibility of laser fire actually doing much damage is fairly low, but the impact possibility of the ion cannon shots is greater. Not infinite, but greater. The lasers have a greater chance of cooling off and having little to no impact on matter as long as they exceed their damage zone. The same can be said for the ion cannon shots.
Thus, I think it’s safe to postulate that the likelihood of laser or ion cannon fire negatively impacting other species/accidentally causing a war or an inter-”spacional” incident would be pretty slim. I say this because typically, the fire fights happen within a close proximity, and they don’t usually take place within any planet’s atmosphere. Now, as always, there’s exceptions. There’s the red blob (can’t remember what it’s called) from the revived Star Trek franchise, movie one, where the Romulans (probably spelled incorrectly too, I’m not a die-hard fan, please don’t kill me!) used the red matter to create a black hole and destroy Vulcan, a rather sizable planet. This was discovered to be a sort of unique substance, so I’m ruling that out as being a substance that can be easily weaponized. Otherwise, there’s usually not many, if any, instances where laser fire (or other weapon fire) from a ship-to-ship skirmish would have any notable, negative impact on a species, planet, or even solar system.
But like I said, there’s always the exception.
From when iFunny was actually funny, I found this little gem. This used to be me. ALL. THE. TIME.
Who can relate?
