the only season of dexter i really fucked with was the first one like imagine tracking down your long-lost brother after you were forcibly separated and sent to a mental institution after witnessing the brutal murder and mutilation of your mother where the adults who found you sitting in her blood days later ignored your desperate pleas for them to keep you two together, later causing you to develop an all-consuming obsession with the brother you lost from a distance, devising a plan to reunite with him which involved killing and leaving cryptic clues specially tailored for him to decipher in order to gain his attention, showing him in the only way you know that you would love and accept him unconditionally unlike anyone else, entering a romantic relationship with his foster sister regardless of your intense envy towards her for capturing his attention naturally when that should be you but you're ultimately just some guy in your brother's world, killing your own father as a way to bring you and your brother closer to each other, kidnapping his foster sister who is now deeply in love with you and then attempting to manipulate your brother into killing her so no one could come between you two ever again JUST to end up being killed by the very person you cared for the most and did this all for where you realize in that moment that you had never been chosen by anyone throughout your entire existence and then you just. die. like what. and this was a tv show.
