"Why are you bleeding?"

That was a question, wasn’t it? Alice didn't look at Neville, she pursed her lips instead, worried her cheek. Her fingers twitched--her thumb rubbing her middle finger before she spread her entire hand. It was sticky with blood but it was hard to tell if it was hers--except who else’s would it be?

Alice drew a thumb across Neville’s cheek, as though painting it with blush. “There now,” She said. She thought it was a fine sigil. “All safe.”

So its NOVEMBER and as everyone knows thats Nanowrimo.

Except my life is like “hey, you know that theory about having time? ITS DOES NOT EXIST”. So I’m doing HALF NANO–aka I want to write 25k by the end of the month in between business trips. That’ll obviously impact my already sucktastic activity so! Here’s a breakdown

More than 50% of this month I’ll be away from home on business related trips

I’m going “FUCK EVERYTHING GONNA TRY IT” and submitting to a few big name pubs by the end of this week (yes, some do have direct subs–I know most do agents but i find agents scary)

I have considered him in the past! but, like Next Gen, there’s just such a small group of people in that area. I don’t know--I’m probably just shopping because i’m overwhelmed by work. Blah

They weren’t dead together. Not yet. There was a chill in the air, though. Something more than a little bitter--the taste of acorns and dead leaves even in the springtime. Alice wanted to commend her,  lovely little family--but words were brittle things any more and her breath smelled rotten.

She might as well have said, I want your life for my own.

When she drew her fingers through Lily’s hair--it didn’t move. But when she pushed a charmed deer--it when rushing, rushing right into the wall where it whined.

What an awful toy, she thought--but, then, Alice knew worse things.

Alice didn’t kiss the bruise--it looked to tender and enflamed, even after the salve had been stretched over Frank’s shoulder. Instead she kissed the base of his neck, the space between his shoulder blades, the barest edge from where flesh turned pale and blue and then angry red. 

“There, that doesn’t look so bad.” She lied, made light of the tight line, the way it patterned down to his ribs. At least none of them were broken. She pressed her head to his other side, thought about kissing his earlobe, his throat--thought better of it. “You’d think,” She said quipped instead, a weary bit of humor, “That you’d stick with traditional broom flight.” That hadn’t been what had happened at all.
