Rebloging because sometimes it doesn’t matter how nice you are to the person, shit like that can still happen.

There was a shooting at my school once. I knew the kid very well, a friend almost. We talked almost everyday, and most of the time, they hid the signs well and you couldn’t tell. Then one day they snapped and our school was in lockdown. They didn’t kill anyone, a few people were injured, but so many people were traumatized and scared. A lot of us were made to feel bad because “Why didn’t you prevent it from happening? You could’ve stopped them.” It wasn’t our job to do that.

First of all, the kid at my school took their issues to the teachers about being bullied, and they didn’t help them. I would stick up for them as best I could, but even then I was still a target for bullying too. And if I did stand up the teachers would see me as a bully.
