This is a great example of why health education is important. Nevermind how fitter people may be more able to get out and do activities with their loved ones and communities and accomplish things, weight loss doesn't need to be all-consuming.

The "weight loss industry" doesn't need anyone's money or attention, because weight loss is free. Buying into programs like Weight Watchers or paying for medications to make it easier is not necessary. Eating less and moving more doesn't need to take up significant brain space. A "very restrictive all raw veggie dish for every meal" isn't even an effective or sustainable plan. As long as that is the popular conception of health and weight loss, the general population will remain overweight.

Imagine what liberation we could accomplish if we as a population were fit and strong and capable and didn't give all our money to the fast food industry.

I didn't say it was easy. I said it was free. It's also simple. It can be easy for some people, but I recognize it is hard for most.

What does eugenics have to do with this? What does fat acceptance think these are related? This is not about controlling the reproduction of populations deemed undesirable, which is what actual eugenics entails. Anyone can take steps to be healthier, even if perfect health doesn't exist. Weight is one factor.

I do blame the system! I think it sucks that the global fast food industry is worth so much and uses manipulative tactics against consumers. People still have free will, though.

I would actually go as far as to say that MOST abuse is unintentional. I think most people will go through their lives without ever experiencing intentional abuse. People are abusive because they're selfish, because they're stressed, because they care more about what society thinks they should do than the impacts of their actions on their children and partners, because they think what they're doing is correct, because they've made it make sense in their own heads, because they think they can fix their victims, they think they can fix their relationships, they think they can stop you from leaving, they think they can make you a better partner to them, they think that means you need to do what they want. We've sort of constructed mental illness in a way that doing this shit to other people counts as a form of mental illness because it is anti social behavior in the literal sense— it is behavior that causes social harm.

I don't say any of this to excuse it. I think everyone needs to be more aware of this because if you think abuse has to be intentional you will never realize you are capable of abusive behavior. You will never realize you are being shitty to the people you love, because YOU know what you mean, YOU know you don't mean any harm. But you're doing harm. You need to pay attention to the impact you have on other people, and you need to do it all the time, Especially when you feel least capable of doing so. Sorry! You live in a society. Get your head out of your ass.
