Story time;

I was working at my first job, pre-covid (that’s right this was right outta high school), and it was the little gas station my mom worked at. I was a fresh 18 year old working her wages, and was mopping the floor, full concentration. I was not aware of the man that walked up beside me to walk around, until I felt the lightest, worst touch on my right shoulder blade, heard a mumble and I fully shut down, I was so triggered. I wasn’t aware it was a shut down, because internalized ableism can make you think your as ✨normal✨ as everyone else until shit like this happens. I fully quit cold turkey that day, I quit the job and struggled since.
