Raziel took a deep breath as he walked outside, he hated the cells, too stiff for his liking. “ Well since you haven’t gotten that proper meal, then we will get something to eat. There is a nice place not too far from here.” He explained. “ Ah, then you are really new, what brought you here?”

Charlene smiled when the Professor said there were going to get some food. She was a little hungry now that she thought of it and it probably played with her feelings as well. “Alright, Professor. I just follow you.” She said with a smile and then chuckled. “Well, I’ve been here before. It’s been a while though and I came back cause I never finished my studies here. So here I am again. Although I changed subjects now.”

Ever nodded sagely. “I should be more accepting of where I am right now. There isn’t much sense on crying over soggy moss is there.” He nodded again. “i hope that I can be one of the people who is nice. I don’t know exactly what I’m doing, but I would like to help people as much as I can. I have a certain amount of privilege and I can’t take advantage of that.” He led them around the corner to the entrance to his building. He was sure that by human standards it was very nice. The room he’d been given… actually a whole group of rooms, was certainly lavish, but it just wasn’t the forest. Not by a far shot. “Do you live inside of buildings like this in Mishy Gun?” he asked as he held open the door for her. 

“Do you not like it here?” Charlene asked and looked at the man. “I lived in a house back in Michigan. Three bedroom house.” She bit her lip. It was now her house. But she didn’t want to live there alone. So being here was a good escape of that. “How did you live before coming here? Did you live in an apartment or a house?” She asked Everlasting, hoping to find out more about the guy. He seemed kinda cute but also a little lost here. As if he wasn’t meant to be here.

Thankfully Tyhren hadn’t run into many folks that wanted to take advantage of him and had actually managed to make a few friends.  It was something that he hadn’t expected to have happen, not up here with all the upworlders.  He was starting to understand them somewhat, even if he did think they were all insane for living out under the open sky like they did.  Now he’d heard that there were some new slaves that had arrived on the island and instead of ignoring them like usual he figured he’d try to do the whole introduction thing.  Shuffling his bag back up onto his shoulder, he heard someone call out.  “Aye lassie, give me ah minute.  It takes me ah bit longer tah get places.”  It was one of the disadvantages to being a dwarf aboveground, his 5’6” was tall in the Holds but he was rather short compared to every other male he’d met up here.  Poking his head around the doorframe, he nodded to the woman.  “Howdy lassie, ah heard dhey was some new folks in dah cells.  Reckon it was ah good idea tah come say hi.”

Charlene was surprised when she heard the hard accent of the person out of the cell. She had never heard someone talking like that and it made her curious. Charlene smiled at the man standing in the doorframe. “Hey.” She said and chuckled. “Really nice of you to come over and say hi. I’m Charlene, what’s your name?” She asked. She was really happy that some people cared for the newbies and checked in.

He had to agree with her. The air was fresh and clean. It was different than the forest. The forest had the smells of wood and earth and life. There is life in the air here too, but in the place of wood and earth there is fruit and salt. “Mishy Gun. Mishy Gun.” He mulled the place over in his mind a few times. “I don’t know that place but it sounds lovely.” He had many questions rolling around in his mind all the time since coming here, but he didn’t want to be overwhelming. “What do you make of this place? I’ve only recently arrived myself and I must say that I find the school very strange. Like… well, such as the slaves. Where I am from, freedom is essential. Are you… are you alright?” Well that was a silly thing to ask. Of course she was not alright without her freedom.

Charly could hardly hold back a chuckle when he said Mishy Gun instead of Michigan. It was cute. “It was lovely there. But...I am glad to be here now.” She said, don’t wanting to think of home too much. It wasn’t home anymore. Not without her father there. “I have been here before, and loved it back then. So I came back and...well...it is alright. I’ll be fine. With people that are nice to me I’ll be just fine. I am more of a loner anyways.” She shrugged. And from the rules she knew she could probably get some benefits when she was nice to the Masters and Mistresses.

Ava was making her way through the hallway. She had been feeling more restless as of late, which was how she found her way there in the first place. She hadn’t anticipated being called out, but when she was, she couldn’t help but smile lightly at the other woman. She ran her fingers through her long dark hair. 

“It’s just me,” she said, biting her lip just a bit. She cleared her throat a little, making her way closer to the door.

“Would you like to um, you know? Get out of there?” she asked her. The woman looked familiar, smelled familiar, and it took Ava a minute, but then she smiled. “You’re back…” she said soflty.

Charlene looked at the woman in front of her cell and took a deep breath. She somehow seemed familiar, even though she couldn’t really place it right away. And then it hit her. Slowly memories of dance lessons came back to her mind and she smiled softly.

When Ava realized that she knew her as well, Charly grinned. “Yeah, just arrived today.” She explained and then walked closer to the door. “And I’d love to get out of the room for a little again. It’s...kinda boring down here.”

Raziel nodded as he lead her out of the cells. “ It is nice to meet you as well.” He said. “ Now tell me where would you like to go? We can walk around, or we can go get food, I doubt you have had a proper meals since being here. You are new right?” He already knew that but it didn’t help to ask.

Charlene followed the Professor and took in her surroundings again. She really felt like this was some kind of dream - not sure yet if it was a nightmare or a good dream in the end. “I am fine with whatever, Professor. I didn’t have proper food yet and I am just happy to stretch my legs and get out of that room for a while. So whatever you’d like to do.” At his question if she was new she nodded. “Yeah, just arrived a few hours ago.”

Levi studied her for a moment. There was definitely something familiar about her. He couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was. He licked his lips a little bit before the memory started to come back. She had been so kind to him, so sweet. A genuine smile began to cross his lips and he stood up, making his way closer and closing the distance between the two of them. 

“Hey,” he told her. “How have you been?” He smirked a little. “Yeah..I take requests,” he teased, winking at her.

Charly smiled widely when Levi came over and talked to her. She was excited to see him again and it seemed like he still remembered her, or at least a bit of her. She bit her lips at his question and then shrugged. “It’s been a few long years, but now I am finally back here.” She said and then ran a finger over her collar. “How have you been?” She was definitely interested in what had been going on here.

“You take requests, mhm?” She asked then and laughed. “No matter in what direction it goes?”

He nodded and smiled. “If you change your mind do let me know. I agree. This is bit of a lonely place though maybe that’s just because we’re new here? I have been a bit lonely though, it’s true.” He breathed in the air as they walked toward the building that housed his rooms. “I’m still surprised by the smell of salt and fruit. It’s lovely isn’t it? Not as nice as the forest, but still lovely.” He looked over at her and ticked his head to the side. “Is it alright to ask where you come from?” He was struggling with not only the etiquette of things, but also the outright politeness of it. The last thing he wanted to do was cause anyone embarrassment, anger, or Gods forbid pain. After all when he thought too much about home he himself felt a deep aching pain. 

Charlene nodded. “I’ll let you know if I change my mind. Thank you.” She said and then shrugged. “Yeah, it might be lonely because we’re new, or maybe because we don’t know the right people yet. But we can keep each other company now.” She smiled softly. Outside she took a deep breath as well. “It is really nice here. The air is so fresh and clean.” She had missed it. When the man asked her where she was from she bit her lip. “I am from a small village in Michigan.” She answered. “You can ask me whatever you want. I don’t mind at all.” She added then.

“ Charlene.” He repeated, before calling over a guard to unlock her cells. “ Good we are going to go for a little walk, but please don’t be boring,  I have no time for that today.” He said stepping back once the cell was open. “ Professor Rosier.” He said offering her his hand.

Charlene chuckled. “I seriously hope I am not boring, Sir.” She said then and smiled at him when he introduced himself. “It is nice to meet you, Professor Rosier.” She wanted to ask more, but decided to stay a little quiet for now. First she needed to find out if the Professor was alright with all her questions and everything. He could be one of the stricter people and not like her talking that much.

James nodded he was going to leave alone the part that she was here then was gone and came back as a slave. That must have been a hard decision and it probably would not help having a stranger ask too many questions. “Right ok that is probably it I was pretty shy back then and saw you around but wouldn’t have come up to you.” He had a lot to get used to that first year on the island. He had to learn what he was in not the easiest way but he had grown up a lot since then. “The beach is a lot like it has been there is a Beach bar down there and a few beach houses but generally it is the same as it was Charly.” He smiled happy as they walked getting outside once more as he held the door for her. “So any preference about what to do on the beach make sand castles, swim, dive, surf, or sail?”

Charly smiled at James. “Am I that scary, James?” She asked with a laugh when he said that he wouldn’t have come up to her. She had never been really she when it came to meeting new people. Unless they seemed scary, then she prefered to stay in the background. “It has been a while, so just have a walk right now would be cool. Maybe swim if the water is nice.” She answered. “I’ve never been diving, surfing or sailing. Have you?”

Ever didn’t say anything as the man pulled out his keys and opened the metal door. It all seemed so barbaric. He couldn’t imagine being caged up in such a way. He kept his eyes down until the man walked away grumbling something about pansy ass masters. He quite liked pansies. They were lovely. However the tone of his voice did not sound as appreciative. Once he had walked away, Ever did look up. “It seems we’re free to go now Charly.” He felt awkward as a yearling next to the woman as they walked from the depressing little room. He didn’t know what species she was, not being particularly skilled at discerning them. She simply appeared human, but then again so did he. “Are you in need of anything? I don’t have a great deal of money, but enough to see me through.” What he didn’t realize was that he had been provided with more than a great deal through a complicated agreement made between his parents and the magic user who had helped them get Ever to the island. The finer points of banking were completely lost on him. “The mage gave me a card that does dispense money when I need it, so I can easily afford anything you might be needing.” 

Charly waited for the guard to open the door, smiled at him softly and then turned to the man who was the reason why she was allowed to leave her room for a little. “Guide the way, Sir.” She said with a smile and then followed him. When he asked her, if she was in need of anything, she took a deep breath. It sounded so, so wonderful to just buy everything that she hadn’t been allowed to keep. But...at the same time there was no reason for it. She’d have to pay him back somehow and she didn’t have money or anything else here. Except her body. She bit her lip in thoughts and then shook her head softly. “It’s a really nice offer, but I don’t need anything right now. I am all set with everything I really need.” She answered. “Just company is something I really, really need more of. Being alone isn’t good.” She added then. When he mentioned a mage, Charly looked at him a little curious, but didn’t really say anything. Maybe it was his way to call his father. Or whatever. She wasn’t one to judge, right?

He never enjoyed going to the cells, it was his least favorite place on the Island. It made him almost feel bad for all the slaves down there. But he was looking for someone, someone interesting. He didn’t do good with being bored, and why not let some poor slave out of the cells for a few hours.

“ Hello.” He said as he stepped closer to her cell. “ What’s your name, and do you fancy getting out of the cells for a few hours?” 

Charlene looked at the man in front of her cell. “My name is Charlene, Sir.” She answered and smiled softly at the question. “I’d love to get out of here for a little.” She had spend all morning just being inside and she’d love to get out or at least see something else than her bed and the closet.

He smiled shyly. “I’ll try. I tend to get nervous in new situations. Which is pretty much just this whole island.” His life before coming here had been over a hundred years of very few new situations. “I will most certainly try. I do want to put you at ease. I assure you that I am just trying to extend a helping hand. It’s a pleasure to meet you Charlene. I’m Everlasting, though I believe Ever is a bit easier to say if you’d prefer.” He smiled, glad that she wasn’t frightened. “Oh… the guard.” He coughed, took a deep breath, and then approached the man. “Could you be of some assistance Sir. I would like to take this young woman for a walk and a visit.” The man made a lewd expression and chuckled in a way that seemed distinctly menacing in Ever’s opinion. 

Charly thought the man in front of her was quite charming, even if he had some weird ways. He seemed kinda...old fashioned in the way he talked. But he didn’t scare her, and that was a good thing, right? It made him kinda interesting in Charly’s eyes. “It is really nice to meet you, Ever.” She said with a smile. “You can call me Charly, if that is easier for you.” She added and then watched him going to the guard, wanting to tell him to f*ck off when the guard chuckled at Ever. He seemed like a decent guy and the guard shouldn’t make fun of him. But she knew quiet well that she was going to get into trouble if she even tried to raise her voice, so she just watched the exchange going on and decided for herself to maybe help Ever with that later.

There was no point denying it. “Yes ma’am, so nervous. Please don’t aplogize for asking. I’m sure it’s pretty obvious, hmm?  I don’t know the etiquette about any of this. I don’t wish to be forward and yet I don’t want to hold back my good fortune from others.” He smiled. “I assure you I will do nothing to put you in any harm. I even purchased food.” He hadn’t quite adapted to eating things that weren’t still growing in the soil, but it did seem like there were quite a few tasty things to enjoy in this human world “Do I need to do anything in particular or can we just… go?” He looked down the hall at the large, intimidating looking guard. 

Charlene looked at the man and smiled softly. “Don’t be nervous, seriously.” She said and then held her hand out between the bars. “I am Charlene. It is nice to meet you. And if you want to take me with you, you need to ask the guard to open the door for you and then I just follow you.” She said, thinking that was what she had seen earlier. “I am not scared of you, Sir.” Maybe it was the wrong thing to say in the long run, but the guy really, really seemed way too nervous.

“Oh you don’t have to call me…” He stopped himself. It wouldn’t do to have her not call him Sir. That wouldn’t be pretending he could be tough in the least. “That’s good to hear. I was just… well it seems that as a master I’m in a position to be of some use to those who aren’t. I don’t exactly understand all of the rules just yet, but is there something I can do for you? I have been given a very large living space. Too much space for me. Would you like to come for a visit. You don’t need to entertain me…” He realized that had a certain connotation that he hadn’t intended. His cheeks bloomed red. “I don’t… that is to say… obviously you are very pretty… it’s just that it wouldn’t be appropriate. I just thought a friendly visit so that you may have more space for a bit. I was told I should be helpful if I could.” His voice was nearly squeaky at the end and he needed to stop just to breath. 

Charly tried to follow what the man was saying, but that was really, really not easy. She looked at him and smiled widely when he offered her to come for a visit. “Are you nervous?” She asked softly, and then put a hand in front of her mouth, shutting herself up for a second. “Sorry, Sir. I don’t want to be curious or anything.” She then took a deep breath. “And of course, I’d like to get out of here a little. And if you’d like to show me your room, I’d love that.”

James nodded pleased that she agreed and he waved over to one of the guards to open up the cell to let her out. “Good the beach is one of my favorite places.” he looked at her again she was very pretty but he knew he had seen her in the past. “Alright this is going to sound like a line but it isn’t but do I know you you look familiar like deja vu I don’t think we spent much time together but I know I’ve seen you before.’ If she had been on the island could have been a game night or party or something but he never forgot a pretty face a name possible but not a face. “I’m James by the way you don’t have to call me sir at least not right now.”

Charly’s smile got wider when the guards opened the door and the man in front of her cell said, that the beach was one of his favorite places. “That’s great to hear, Sir. The beach here is really beautiful.” If it didn’t change in the last 3 years of course. She hadn’t been here for a while. “I have been here before, yes, Sir.” Charlene chuckled softly. “It’s been a while though. And it seems that I forgot a few important things back at home. But okay, I will be fine.” When the man introduced himself, she smiled. “I am Charlene. Or Charly, depending on what you prefer, James.”

All of the advice he’d been giving was to play the roll of a tough master and also that he should do his best to help the slaves at the same time. He had literally no idea how to do the tough part, but he knew that if he could help people he had to. So after finishing all of his homework he headed in the direction the map told him the slaves made their homes. He chewed on his lip as he walked down the hallway, averting his eyes from the guard he passed. What was he supposed to do really. He was just about to just leave and run back to his own room when he heard a voice. He looked in the doorway. “Umm… hello… I… umm, yes… hello. How are you?” 

Charly slowly stepped up to the bars, looking at the guy in front of it. He was clearly a master, but he seemed somehow shy. At least he didn’t seem comfortable right now. She watched him with a small smile, trying to read his body language a bit more. “I am fine, Sir. How about you?” She asked and smiled softly. She hoped he was a nice guy. Not one to hurt her.
