Everlasting couldn’t say that he was unhappy, but neither would it be true to say that he was happy. He missed home like an ache in his body. There were people here that he cared a great deal for. They were lovely and he was grateful for them. However, he still felt alone; adrift. His new home was a source of comfort though as was his ability to garden around it. This was one thing he could not do in his true form and that knowledge helped him to continue on.
On this hot Sunday he was dressed in some comfortable summer clothes with a large floppy brimmed hat keeping his pale skinned face in shade planting some jasmine that he hoped would climb up the tree trunks that held up the front of his small patio. He was wiping dirt onto his shorts from his hands when he heard the distinct sound of someone breaking out of the forest into his yard he turned on alert but still with a smile. “Hello?”
It had been a terrible idea, Evelyn knew. But as with all terrible ideas she had went on with it as it had seemed perfectly logical at the time. But she should have known better, of course. Going to her pond in itself wasn’t a bad thing. But going alone, this soon? Not so good. Letting out a low sigh, the brunette made her way out of the meadow, picking a direction at random. Her thigh screamed to be taken home but she ignored the throb, knowing that the more motion she could gain, the better.
Evie had been so lost in thoughts and daydreams that she hadn’t even realized where her maye not-so-random direction had led her until she saw the tidy garden and darling house. Perhaps her subconscious had led her here on purpose, as it couldn’t possibly be a bad day if she could see Ever’s smiling face. “Oh..it’s just me! Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you”
