Produite sous licence par Innocenti, la Mini se transforme, au début des années 70, pour s'adapter à la concurrence locale menée par Autobianchi et son Al12. Elle adopte une nouvelle robe, dessinée par Bertone, tout en conservant dans un premier temps les dessous de sa soeur britannique. Mais elle arrive dans une période délicate pour une entreprise qui est passée trop vite du monde du deux-roues à celui de l'automobile, et après son rachat par De Tomaso, Innocenti revoit petit à petit sa copie afin d'italianiser encore davantage cette fille du Nord... Geoffrey Robinson a une idée de génie : conserver la plate-forme de la Mini, mais lui offrir un nouveau look. Cette dernière Mini Bertone conserve le 4 cylindres de la Mini, dans sa version la plus puissante Son tempéramen est assez proche de celui de la Mini, la qualité des finitions en plus. Not only did Innocenti make their own version of the Austin-Healey Sprite as Scotty covered recently, by 1974 Innocenti had been making the BMC Mini under licence for nine years. However, they wanted their own version of the car. This is one of those cars! It’s located in Dewittville, Quebec, Canada and is up for sale here on eBay, where bidding is starting at $4,000 but there is a reserve.

This is an unusual one, sort of an Italian, British, Japanese triple-play. The original 1989 Innocenti DeTomaso Turbo seen here is on eBay with a current bid of just over $4,000 and four days left on the auction. It’s located in Henrico, Virginia; this could be a fly-out-drive-the-car-home type of deal. This car is much newer than what is usually shown here, but I couldn’t pass this one up.
