Whoever gives nothing has nothing. The greatest misfortune is not to be unloved, but not to love.

Whoever gives nothing has nothing. The greatest misfortune is not to be unloved, but not to love.
Albert Camus, Notebooks Vol. III: 1951-1959
I’m at an unhealthy weight, and I’m working on it, but I’m not mad at myself anymore. I carried a child. I lived with disability. I survived depression and psychosis. That’s not weakness. That’s strength. Some people are unkind because they’re shallow. Ignorance is uglier than fat will ever be. Obesity has many causes: genetics, health, trauma, medication. It is not just “willpower.” I’m changing because I want to take care of myself, not punish myself.
Live longer, gain experience, ask more questions. Compassion ages better than abs.
You’re not behind. You’re healing. Of course, it’s taking time. Do you know what you’ve survived? We weren’t taught ease. We were taught endurance. So yeah, sometimes you slip back into survival. Sometimes you forget how far you’ve come. But don’t let that shame you. Let it remind you: Healing isn’t a trend. It’s a lifestyle. And relearning safety after a lifetime of chaos? That’s a f****** revolution.
I am allowed to be happy,
I grant myself permission to be happy.
I do not begrudge myself.
I free myself from those who begrudge.
The love I have for you is irreplaceable. No one will love you like I do. And that’s good. Can you imagine a world revolving around just you. I hope to set the example in how to love other people. So you will not howl for your mother and father in the world. But cherish the love you received. That it will fuel you to spread that. So that the loneliness will not eat you up. I hope to raise a lover rather than someone waiting to be loved. And I hope it will satisfy you. May you meet those rare lovers in return.
So memory is much like painting a picture rather than taking a snapshot. Our perception matters. Each person an unique story. We may not be objective but we are all painting art that tells a story, revealing so much about ourselves along the way. Let it make you feel something. Your life story is an art piece. Instead of judging it I should’ve read, watched, listened. I was too busy comparing it to my own piece to realize that’s not what it’s about. There is supposed to be diversity, how dull life would be if everyone drew the exact same picture with the exact same colors. Sometimes a piece isn’t for you but arguing over it is pointless. So paint your reality, and I’ll paint mine knowing one day someone will understand my art.
anyone else feel a deep crushing sense of loneliness or what
I see you trying. Please keep going.

do you ever get in those moods where you don’t feel like reading and you don’t feel like being on the internet and you don’t feel like watching a show and you don’t feel like sleeping and you don’t feel like existing in general
Today during my run I was ready to beat myself up again about not reaching my time faster. But I stopped myself and realized a few years ago I was in a fucking wheelchair unable to walk. I have every right to be proud of every step my body is able to take. I run my own race and my body is doing amazing work for me healing from all those years of hardships and challenges. I have nothing to prove.
