[ painful love you do mean, correct? lol. pippin saw something in faramir and it made him believe in himself just enough to fight back, I think. not very much, but enough to keep him from just giving up all together. he’d only really had boromir all his life and then he was gone and faramir knew not what to do but pippin made him smile in those last few terrible days of the war. which he really really needed. the pyre scene allllways hurts. a ton. and people say that? how? have they actually seen lotr? there is tooooons of character development. esp with male/male friendships being the catalyst. which is different than most things as most chara stuff is focused on romantic relationships, but in lotr their love doesn’t have to be romantic for it to be wonderful and exactly what they need. but yeah, I still ship despite that. I am human after all.

{ YES ALL OF THIS these are my thoughts exactly. my friends and boyfriend are dumb and say that lotr sucks and im just like no. you know nothing. nOTHING. these are the people i bestow my affections on jfc do you see what i have to deal with. sighs loudly for ten years.  and yeah the platonic relationships in lotr are my favourite part because they're all so different and perfect and heartbreaking like i  cried so fucking much in  the chapter where sam thought frodo was dead i dont think ive actually ever cried more while reading. i have such a weakness for well developed friendships and it's a real shame there isn't more of it in other media. the pyre scene and the whole battle fucked me up when i read it so much oh man. and well im pretty new to shipping in  the lotr fandom because even though ive been a fan for ages i only just got actively in the fandom here. }

   ”This? This is a journal. It is something hobbits keep when they have nowhere else to put their deep thoughts. You, however, needn’t worry about such things. Antics and mushrooms are hardly worth keeping a full journal about.”

     "Deep thoughts?" He echoed with a laugh, finding the phrase awfully amusing. "Ah, of course, the ever inquiring mind of Frodo Baggins, scholar of the Shire! Please, grace me with a sampling of these deep thoughts,  coz."

   "I'm sure I could fill hundreds of journals with my adventures," he continued, as if it were a challenge. "But I never heard a song about a hobbit sitting with his nose in a book  and thinking deep thoughts."

After weeks of travel, he's almost starting to wonder whether this was all such a good idea. "It would be nice, is all."
