call me cosmas, michelangelo, or any variations thereupon. i use ae/aer and zil/zilla pronouns.
i talk about (almost) anything and everything on this blog, but my biggest interest at the moment is uma musume. i am also a dragon age fan, in case the url didn't give that away.
i play a lot of RPGs and will post about them sometimes. my playthroughs are beneath the cut, with a (work in progress) sideblog specifically detailing my dragon age worldstates, because i have five of them and am mildly obsessed with them. you can find that sideblog here.
my favourite umas are (in this order) t.m. opera o, admire vega, oguri cap, and fuji kiseki. i wish i could put all of them directly into my brain (insert system joke here).
my main project at the moment is a fanfiction primarily set in australia inspired by the 2005 spring tenno sho. it's in the early stages right now. turns out that this sort of thing takes a LOT of research.

@utopians no but what if real life james fitzjames and real life francis r.m. crozier saw fitzier and it made their relationship so awkward they stopped talking.... this is so sad 😔
if you were curious the top review on goodreads for the handmaid's tale is unironically just "what are we, a bunch of asians?" but in a lot more words than that
I'm just going to say it - body hair (and beauty standards in general) is truly one of the final frontiers of women's issues in the West. Too many women just love their gilded cage too much. It shocks me how virulently women will defend it. I barely open my mouth and the "well I like how it feels. it just makes me feel cleaner. sensory issues. I do it for me. feminism is about choosing (to conform)." brigade come rushing in by the dozens.
Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.
You genuinely can't even point out that hairlessness is a man-made standard without women losing their shit and acting like they are totally immune to propaganda they've been exposed to from birth. I'm so tired.
trying to get across that dragon age has a problem with lesbophobia sucks so much because you'll say "it kinda makes me uncomfortable that the two canon relationships between queer women in dao are explicitly abusive and predatory. also the game was absolutely made with men in mind and despite leliana being bisexual, she has a lot more romantic interactions/reactivity with a male character, and overall it just makes a kind of uncomfortable effect where it feels like the intention was Saving this poor abused women from her evil bitch ex with the power of your manly heroic ways" and people will just respond with "yay toxic yuri i loveeeee toxic yuri!!! also leliana is bisexual just romance her as a woman lmao" and completely ignore that you were talking about. like. the intention of the writers. and then you'll say "It sucks that sera is so mistreated by the game and ends up getting paired off with a side character she has no interactions with if you don't romance her" and they'll respond "that's just because she's unlikeable" and completely ignore that part of the reason she's so "unlikeable" is because a lot of people just genuinely do not like lesbians
see this is why when people tell me “veilguard presents you with morally dubious things your companions/allies/factions do and wants you to think about them on your own” (paraphrased, previously said to me regarding the mourn watch) i cannot agree because i simply do not believe that the writers had any intention for you to think about the morality of anything in this game. the shadow dragons are Good and they’re Helpful Good People who are Perfect and Nice and Saving the World. just like you as the veilguard are doing Good by stopping solas. if we were meant to question the shadow dragons at all there would maybe be something anywhere in the game about “hey, isn’t it weird that this resistance group is being led by wealthy human altus mages and there are no elves or former slaves in positions of leadership” but there simply is not. you are expected to go along with the shadow dragons being The Only, or at least The Best, resistance group in tevinter—never mind that they have existed for logically a maximum of 3-5 years. they are Your Friends and therefore you can trust them and they’re doing everything right. same goes for the mourn watch using wisps for labor and the crows “ruling” antiva and every returning character saying you have to stop solas from tearing down the veil.
if you were meant to question these things they would not be presented as certainties. your companions would not be regarded as 100% trustworthy sources on everything. you would be able to raise your doubts and express disagreement with their motives or logic. on the other side of the same coin, the antaam and venatori and evanuris and every companion villain like aelia and hezenkoss and anaris are Evil Bad No Nuance, Evil To Be Evil. you are not supposed to dig any deeper. and there is no “deeper” really, in most cases, because the devs just fully didn’t want to deal with all that, or in cases like anaris made them flat cartoon villains on purpose (thanks epler). sure some content got cut and the game was rushed but the level of smoothing over bumps and glossing over potential questions and inability to disagree with your companions or allies about literally fucking anything is so ingrained into every aspect of the game that it cannot be unintentional
you are not supposed to think about veilguard because if you do everything falls apart immediately. from the varric twist to the integrity of the factions to your companions’ motives to the solas of it all. everything is given to you as straightforwardly as possible and you are intended to take it at face value and if you try to pick it apart it’s obvious that this game is held together with duct tape and false promises and snarky bluesky posts
