q: content warnings? a:Β organized crime and all the trimmings ( I donβt delve too deep into it, but it can come up ), abuse from family members, isolation, identity / disconnect from the self. anything that needs tagged is tagged as, for example,Β βblood cwβ.Β
q: whatβs your museβs deal? a: powers exist in this universe and your girl ended up with arguably the most OP one of them all- but due to the OP-ness of said power she has to keep it under wraps. the true extend of her power is the manipulation of electromagnetism, disguised as the ability to manipulate electronic utensils ( such as traffic lights or remote-control cars ).
q: why is her power disguised?Β a: because she might get experimented on if the true power went public. sheβs already on the βget her assβ list for the disguise- the powers in her universe are pretty grounded and βhumanβ ( eg making people fall asleep or keeping someone alive ). sheβs been caught once, for a few days, and has no desire to return to the dark.
q: personality? a: a natural facade. she is a collection of impressions others have made on her, and the reflection of those impressions she makes upon others. think of it like this: if she was present in a movie or tv series series, she would never be seen without someone to reflect something back onto. she is generally unaffected by otherβs opinions of her as they bounce off of her and back onto them, revealing their intentions and selves. she often hurts people; not because she is cruel, but because she canβt care unless... unless... she is driven by a promise: to live a shameless life, one that her dear friends could not.
q: whatβs she up to? a: as of now, sheβs working underground. she has an establishedΒ βbossβ but I keep that vague for fun interactions. maybe your muse is her boss! Ren herself has a position close to her boss and is technically βranklessβ- existing outside of the natural power hierarchy- so she isnβt counted among the groupβs numbers. most people think sheβs a trophy wife ( sans ring ) who isΒ surprisingly capable of physically defending herself with her body, weapons, and intelligence. all that knowledge of physics and chemistry comes in useful, you know.
q: ideas behind the muse? a: Iβve had her for a long time, in many different incarnations. I want to be more free with how I handle her in terms of things like backstory and lore, since I think thatβs what makes me end up feeling stuck with her character.
q: anything else? a: Ren belongs to the same universe as two other OCs of mine, the ABW @acidbodywomanβ and the Kreupana @kreupana You donβt need to be in the woods with them to rp with Ren, itβs just something thatβs there. Ren herself is Brazilian-Japanese, which is reflected in her FC Kana Oya, and has lived in Japan for as long as she can remember. She stands out as beautiful ( hence βradianceβ ) but untouchable ( ... hence βradianceβ ).
