Just a little confession…
By the beginning of this year, a lot of things have changed inside of me. And it’s definitely a good change! I just spent so much time out of tumblr, and today I caught myself thinking about life and everything, so I just wanted to share something…
I’ve been through a lot in the past three years - dealing with the university, mental health problems, and well, life by itself - that I ended up walking away from the Nerdfighteria community (not intentionally)… Last year, I watched this video, and it made me feel good in a way that I hadn’t had felt for so long. I’ve noticed how I closed my eyes for the awesomeness in the world. I had been seeing everything as a series of hurdles that I had to jump over to achieve something - and I didn’t even know what it was.
I went through bullying during high school, and my way out of “the darkness” was my learning communities (that included my best friends), my stories (I’ve always loved to write) and the process of discovering myself as a person passionate about science. Its was so difficult when I thought I’ve lost all and ended up with a big amount of “nothing”. It wasn’t easy to find my way back, but I think I’m finally starting to follow the right path, and this video opened a door and made me see “the light”. Made me remember what is important to me.
So, all I wanted to say is, thank you John, Hank and this community, for reminding me who I am and how wonderful is to be enthusiastic about the stuff I’m passionate about. As John said, “What we map, changes the life we lead”, and I will carry this quote with me from now on <3
Just wanted to share here, because I really love this video, and maybe it could touch someone’s heart - like it did to mine. If it doesn’t… Well, it’s John Green, you’re not wasting your time by listening to him!

1. Your skin may never be perfect, and that’s okay. 2. Life is too short not to have the underwear, the coffee, and the haircut you want. 3. Everyone (including your family, your coworkers, and your best friend) will talk about you behind your back, and you’ll talk about them too. It doesn’t mean you don’t love each other. 4. It’s okay to spend money on things that make you happy. 5. Sometimes without fault or reason, relationships deteriorate. It will happen when you’re six, it will happen when you’re sixty. That’s life.
