Sega played Insane Robots and interviewed Rob at the EGX Rezzed Leftfield Collection.
We had such fun showing Insane Robots in the EGX Rezzed Leftfield Collection last week. Here are some pics of our happy players. (Also thanks to organiser David Hayward and hard working stand runners Charlie, Lily and James!)
I’ve been making some animated GIFs to show short bits of Insane Robots action. Here’s a battle between Mackenzie and Castor in the desert arena. Will post more soon...
We were finalists in the Casual Connect Indie Prize, so took Insane Robots to Amsterdam for 3 days. Lots of great play throughs on our stand.
Insane Robots headlined GameCityNights in Nottingham on 28th Jan. We set up 16 PCs for people to practice the game before running a knockout multiplayer tournament. Rob Bassett came in first place and won a Cat On Yer Head book and rare set of eight International Racing Squirrels badges. Rob also did a talk on the design process for the game.
Great design, good flow.

Really enjoyed it. LOVED the art style.

Rob and new member of the Insane Robots writing team Charlie had a great time showing the game at the GameCity Open Arcade in the National Videogame Arcade, Nottingham on 29th and 30th Oct. We had a steady flow of players, with some spending over an 1.5 hours playing through the game’s tutorial and first three tournaments. Experienced players also came back to play exciting two-player battles - the first time we’ve shown off the game’s multiplayer mode at a public event.
I absolutely loved this game. From the procedurally generated maps to the AI logic to the great game design.

A productive Insane Robots narrative workshop today with James Wallis, Charlie Carter, Rob Davis and (via Skype) Yasmeen Khan. We’ve planned the full story arc for the game and we’re all really excited about what we’ve come up with.
Insane Robots was one of ten fantastic indie games selected to be showcased in the Gaming Loung at London’s Game Funding Forum today. We had lots of players all afternoon, including Pocket Gamer’s Chris James (pictured), try out new game features including the ring of death and the toxic acid cloud.
Insane Robots was featured at Respawn 2015 in Cologne, running alongside Gamescom where we also showed the game to publishers. A LOT of people go to Gamescom!
Last week was the first public showing of our digital game! Insane Robots was picked to be shown at Amaze Festival, running in Berlin from 22 to 24 April 2015. Lots of great feedback from players there.
We talked to players of the physical prototype of Insane Robots at Geek 2014 (Margate), Feral Vector (London), GameCamp 7 (London), Radius Festival (London), GDC (San Francisco) and London On Board.
This might look like a game screen, but it's actually an adjustable random number generator that Tom made to determine card draws for different characters in the game; as well as the outcomes of some special moves. It lets us tune probability and play through the tabletop game to see how it feels. The results will directly influence the digital game's algorithms.
