--- "Are you sassing your mother?"
i-reject-you:
Someone burn his eyes. Where’s their Chain? He needs assistance.
Before such an action could even take place, the Duchess put her son to bed and tucked him in before reading him a bedtime story.
i-reject-you:
Hides his face in his mother’s shoulder.
Gently pets his head before leading him away.
Holds Elliot close and hides his eyes.
{ “I cannot believe you slammed your heel down onto the earl’s toe! How unladylike!”
"I’m sorry…"
"Well, as a duchess, I just cannot condone that action. But as a mother, right on." }
You wake up early in the morning, and something just doesn’t feel right. Rolling over and opening your eyes, you see yourself surrounded by Jack Vessalius body pillows. Clearly some prank, right?
When you push aside all the pillows, and stumble towards your wardrobe to get dressed for the day, more pillows topple out and hit you. Okay… Someone has clearly way too much free time. By the time you’re dressed and walking down the hallway, you notice the pillows taped to the walls… and even on the ceiling?!
By the time you’ve reached the dining room for breakfast, you’ve seen at least 100 of these pillows, everyone else seems to have a similar story. A cruel prank taken too far.
When the fireplace is lit, something has fallen from the chimney and caught fire. Another pillow. You are a Nightray. But despite this, you still want to cry.
Temperance and The Sun
Temperance: Your ideal day
"I suppose it would be spent in the company of my children, perhaps a few years ago I’d be tending to an evening ball, or visit the Opera house, but as of late, I can only do so much."
The Sun: Your happiest memory
"…..Elliot’s fifteenth birthday, his Coming of Age ceremony to be precise. Though I was hardly involved, the look on his face made me smile to the full. He was so happy, and I know the reason for it. It wasn’t for the pride of becoming an adult.. No. It was because his valet and Vanessa were on good terms that day, because neither of them wished to upset him on his birthday.”
Preparing to visit the opera house later this evening.

impertinenthatter:
"Nothing of great importance, My Lady~ Just more of a casual conversation of trivial things~"
"Casual..? Why would the Hatter want to do such things with one such as myself? I'm certain my husband is the one you wish to speak with, having mere conversations with I will do you no good and bring you nothing."
impertinenthatter:
"I assumed I was looking at your face. It would be rude to not look at you when you are speaking."
"....I suppose that is true. So, you wished to speak? What of, exactly?"

Hey Mama Nightray, what did you used to do when the kids were sick or upset?
The Duchess smiled softly, recalling the faint memories of her children’s weak times.
"Of course, such a task of handling sick children were always bestowed upon the wet nurses and maids. I have always been quite poor in health you see, and my immune system was equally as poor. Bernard always advised to leave the children be while they were sick, he always said dotting on them would raise them to rely on everyone, when -and this I quote from him- the truth was, you can only rely on yourself. I knew he meant well, for all of us, but while he had his back turned, or seemed to be elsewhere, which happened often, I would tend to my children myself, but only for a short while. As much as I wished to care for them, I also wished to be present in the days to come, I would not allow a foolish act of recklessness to give me an illness which I could not fight off.
Being upset… Bernard never liked the children when they were to cry. He said it was weak to do so. Times like that I always felt torn, torn between doing the right thing or the wrong, but I was too foolish to label which action was which. Still, I knew in my hearts of hearts that, if I could not help dry their tears, they would dry each other’s. As a wife, I am expected to follow my Husband’s orders, and as a Mother, I am to raise my children to be strong. I know it was wrong, but I believe I put faith in Vanessa, for helping Elliot especially, whenever he was young and would cry— he used to do it often too. Cruel people would always mock our name, throw eggshells and whisper unspeakable rumors behind our backs. And it only ever seemed to get worse when a new member of the family was added. So tell me, how would you think a young boy could handle such cruelness if he could not shed a few tears? But alas, they all grew up and were so strong before I knew it. If they were to cry, they’d do it when they were alone, not wanting to show weakness and not wanting to be a burden upon the family. Each one of them make me proud, and knowing they are strong, despite our shamed name, that gives me hope to believe we can be proud to be Nightrays.”
