I was just thinking about the nightmare again and I maybe have another clue for the list? Rachel Talalay said in that article that they fought to get an opening that was "outside of the story." We know now she meant the war flashback. But it was a flashback that actually connected directly to the rest of it? Since the flashback was real, do you think her saying that it was "outside the story" was a way of hinting that the rest was not?

Yes, that's how I took that comment of hers after I saw S3, and we can add it to the list. I appreciate you bringing it up. I'm a big believer in not seeking explanations from artists and, instead, relying on our own ability to discern what's there on the page or screen, but that doesn't mean that we can't at least note that the director's comment seems to be supporting the interpretation.

Doesn't make it any more correct or incorrect but you are right that it is interesting, especially to look at it again after having seen S3. Whatever she or anyone else involved has to say about it is not something that's going to impact how I interpret it, though. No one's going to tell us what it all means-- we need to connect the dots and figure it out for ourselves. Wouldn't be any fun otherwise. 😉💕

First of all, please excuse my English; it's not my native language 😅

I know many of us still have strong emotions about the ending, myself included. It's okay if you enjoyed it, and it's okay if you didn't. We may have different opinions, but I think we can all agree that we'll miss Aziraphale and Crowley, and seeing Michael and David working together. I sincerely hope they can perform together in another show.

that he blushed when he described crowley as a wily adversary (keeps me on my toes)

that he smiled when he realized the bentley was back without a scratch after having blown up

that he refused crowley a suicide pill

that he kept an eye on crowley for 26 years after 1941, then sought him out and gave him the holy water so that he didn't have to get it himself. but i can't have you risking your life. not even for something dangerous. if we must quote it then at least let's quote it right.

that he went to hell for crowley and made sure they wouldn't bother him anymore

that he only ever cared about crowley not being destroyed

that no way aziraphale didn't check on crowley in three years
