Can't this idea out of my head so I'm writing it down, yay.

Okay as many of you know I've been obessed with Warriors, I know shocker, but there's a reason I love it so much and of course I have to compare it to another musical that I do in fact love and that is Rent

You may be thinking, Stark, what the fuck Rent is nothing like the Warriors soundtrack in plot relevance or literally anything, and you would be absolutely right. However there's one character in both musicals that I want to address on and those are the ones that are sex workers.

Mimi is a stripper, we know about this pretty immediatly with her first song with Roger, that he remembers her because he went to a strip club and saw her there. Which I'm gonna be honest not something I would mention on top of the fact that he says 'They used to tie you up' amongst other things... But that's not important, the reason I talk about Mimi in this instance is because she is/was a stripper and she definetly has her issues, the thing is we kind of only see her as a stripper to be honest, there's no depth into how it is for her to work or how that affects her love life. Roger doesn't go much into this either with seeing past that which sucks, I love stories that show love not caring about people's past because I'm a sucker for that. I want more nuanced sex workers in media, strange thing to say but yeah

Now Warriors, I love the soundtrack, characters etc, but one thing that stands out is the romance between Swan and Mercy. The reason for this is because when they first meet, Mercy tries to flirt her way through Swan, as she's probably unfortuantly had to do many times before. However Swan is not that kind of person and pushes away, but she still sees Mercy, not as someone to spend the night with. She sees Mercy for how she's dedicated, especially stated at the very end. One of the things that sticks with me is during 'A Light or Somethin'

'More than your body, more than these lips or this face.' The reason I love this line so much is because Swan is not just seeing Mercy as beautiful, but as someone more than what Mercy has been seen as. And that is so fucking beautiful actually, I need more of this actually

So who was going to tell me that Sully from the concept album is sung by the guy from ghosts. This is terrible news I love that guy he's so silly in the show. Now he's evil.

the way that swan says "we both know that you're beautiful, you're more than beautiful" and mercy (someone who's a sex worker and who most likely constantly suffers a lot at the hands of the orphans) echoes the "more than beautiful" part like it's the first time someone told her that.

So here's the thing as much as I love the idea of JJ singing Swan's part in 'A light or somethin' to Abigail in a Warriors au JJ is a certified lovergirl and would immediatly melt on sight if Abigail flirted with her that first time at Orphan Town.

HOWEVER, what would make the song make sense is Sadigail, because Sadie does hold her feeling close to her chest, and would not be like JJ. She would be suspicious of Abgial at first, but also try to fight the urge to be like 'well shit she's hot' but also try to push back at the same time.
