Shot from Rochambeau’s Show on Tuesday
Scream + Benga at Club matter 02 London - A set for Rinse / Fwd
From 2002-2005 Garage got darker and birthed a new sound, DUB-STEP! Thanks to events like Fwd/Rinse and Plastician the evolution of Dub-Step created a new raving era with Reggae infused dub plates, deep ripples of bass, with Grime being the hot sauce giving life to the beats.
Everything became less glam, it was no longer about the shine and champagne, it was all about getting lost to the beat, skank out all night and the only time you could get into a club with trainers on.
Club Matter in the 02 was one of the best clubs nights. R.I.P Club matter.
It's around the year 2000 when everyone thought the world was coming to an end, we'd all be kidnapped by aliens and everyone would be dressed in space suits.
In the mean time Craig David bought the denim on denim and knitted beanie combo for the guys and the girls were still flexing the Aaliyah vibe in a tighter sexier way. Halter neck bra tops, thigh length split skirts, everything was stringy, strappy and shiny, all sass, class and glam!
Our style icons of the week dripping in head to toe Moschino, Heartless Crew. Signalling everything about the late 90's, the iconic splattering's of the brand, heavily printed all over, sets the tone of the era where fashion meets the ravers. It was all about fresh garms, music and bagging attention from all the girls and guys. [Circa 1998]
