How To Be A True Leader

It is hard to say, what personal abilities are the most crucial in identifying really good leaders. But there is definitely the complex system of social skills, that helps to organize different groups of people successfully. 

Firstly, a skilled leader builds relationships on a solid foundation of trust, understanding and readiness to help. I think it is very important, because there is a higher productivity in a team with a friendly atmosphere inside. A good leader must assess his team’s capacity objectively and do his best to engage them into teamwork.

On the second place I would like to place a long-term prospective vision and the sequence of actions. A leader must be able to set goals and explain their significance to others. In addition to the strategic outlook there is also an important quality of doing business always step by step. 

Thirdly, great leaders are constantly trying to improve themselves. They inspire and motivate others, so they need to develop and build their own technical and professional expertise. Every real professional understands the importance of innovation and keeps abreast of technology updates. 

Of course, it is not a complete set of leaderships qualities. Moreover, a lot depends on the conditions. For example, I am the monitor of our students group. As we are a group of  future architects, we sometimes come across many problems in our teamwork. The specificity of interaction with artists or creative people can be explained by the fact that everyone wants to demonstrate their originality. In my opinion, one of examples of a true leader can be Nelson Mandela. I was impressed, how simple and sincere his intentions were. Despite difficult political situation in the country and his inprisonment, he remained a defender of his people. “I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all people will live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to see realised. But if it needs to be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.” (cite from Nelson Mandela’s speech on 20 April 1964)

Little  journey at the weekends

I love Ukraine. Especially I love to find  and explore new places of native land.

Recently I've set out for a litle journey with my groupmates. It was amazing to discover unknown architectural monuments in my region (Rohatyn distric, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine). I visited small villages such a Cherche, Chesnyky, Pidozerne.

What is really interesting:

wooden Church of the Holy Spirit (1644–5) with a magnificent iconostasis (1647–50) is on UNESCO world heritage list 

estate of Count Ray in Priozerne village (XVIII-XIX century)

It was very scary inside this magnific castle. building is empty and very neglected. nobody cares about it. I was shocked by this. unfortunately, it's very common in Ukraine, when the government doesn't care about such masterpieces of architecture. 

I hope there will be found a good people, who’ll repair this building. Otherwise castle will be doomed to destruction.

Don’t Travel If You Want To Survive

Beautiful Dream And Harsh Reality

Recently I came across the following quote by prophet Muhammad on Internet:

Don’t tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you have travelled. 

I was impressed, how topical stay this quote today. If you ask me, what kind of activities I associate with every period in a life, I’d definitely answer - it’s Traveling! 

But what about ukrainian people? How can they combine struggle for survival and  enjoyment of life?

It’s hard to say, how they do it. In a few words: average wage (data 08. 2015 in Ivano-Frankivsk region) is 3411 UAH. If you divide on the dollar exchange rate, obtain almost $ 160 !

A plane ticket one way from Ivano-Frankivsk to Kyiv costs UAH 1488 - $ 70. Thanks simple mathematical actions: 70+70 =140. And what about students? And this is just one small example of unfairness, you can meet if you are a honest, hardworking Ukrainian.

Before The Start

A few words about me if you suddenly found my post. I'm a student architect, live in a small town Ivano-Frankivsk in Western Ukraine. Later I’ll explain what role is played by geography. Generally it’s nothing special in my life, but there is one thing that does’n let me sleep. Perhaps you know the feeling when you want something more,  when your desires are much greater than your opportunities?

I want to tell you about my little experiment how a girl with ambition and minimal possibilities sets a task and gets/or just tries to get what she want.
