So I was in Japan recently, and it was a complete coincidence that I got to see the 2019 Hakone Ekiden. I only know about this event from Kazetsuyo, and I had no idea that it was such a huge event. When my friend and I got off at Shinagawa station, there were people in front of the station passing out flags!!

There were A TON of people cheering the runners on!! And that was awesome to see. Every runner had a police car escort.

It was truly inspiring to see the runners working so hard. Behind those steps are countless hours of training and dedication! The winning team won for the first time this year, and the coach said he has been hoping for victory for 8 years. Congratulations to the winning team!! (Not the school I got the keychain for though)

I read on another post “this is about setting the difficulty of our boss battle for the next two years” and that is absolutely true. You’re not voting for someone you agree with, you’re not voting for someone who is perfect or great or even good.

You are voting for the person who is a) going to get elected and b) is easiest to fight for what you need. Until we move the needle, the best we can expect is ‘the best of all enemies’ and not ‘an ally’.

Hey do y'all fucks remember two years ago when just before the election all these “don’t vote both parties are bad” or “vote independent!” Posts were going around and then Trump won and now two weeks before midterms there’s all these “don’t bother voting, revolution is the only way!” And “your vote isn’t gonna matter and is an ineffective way to protest” posts are going around? unless you’re planning on starting and completing a socialist revolution by november 6th there is absolutely no reason to abstain from voting. it is not a blood pact. you are not beholden to democrats when you vote for them over abstaining. there IS a lesser of two evils and it’s not inaction. every republican voted in kavanaugh and only one democrat did. statistically we are literally safer with democrats in office.

and no, i’m not planning on relinquishing communist ideals in deference to dems. i just don’t think as black and white as “anything short of a communist revolution is useless.” roe v wade is in jeopardy and women WILL die if it gets overturned. leftists sitting on their asses are about as useful as the thoughts and prayers of school shootings

We fawn over Peter Kavinsky a lot, but can we talk about Lara Jean? Cause that girl is the most relatable and sweetest character ever. When they’re in the cafe talking after the party and Peter tries to brush off his dad leaving him and LJ says “Well we don’t have to talk about it, but it’s not whatever”. That was honestly the sweetest and most understanding line ever. She’s not pushing him to spill his feelings, but she letting him know his feeling are valid at the same time. I just- I absolutely love Lara Jean.
