Arbour's story focuses on disability, becoming disabled, and all the medical stuff and ableism that comes with it. Please view at your own risk.

Rules

For the most part, no real big boundaries. Just don't send me straight nsfw (for this account is intended for all ages), though Arbour and I are both adults (so just keep that in mind). In that vein flirting/shipping Arbour is fine (granted both the character and the person behind it are adults.), Arbour's idea of a relationship is gonna be a bit different from the norm, but it's still something they're totally capable of doing.

If I don't like an ask I won't answer that.

Just generally be normal about things.

Don't know what to ask about? Here's some ideas (updated July 31 for those worried about asking the same thing twice):

Their crime (+ how they feel about it, etc.) [Answered: Trespassing, Resisting arrest. They were arrested while protesting. The resisting arrest came from them punching the cops and running so their friends could escape]

Their family, friends, etc. [Grew up with a Mother and Father ("Mom and Dad" and a 17 year old younger sibling who is named Faith (she/him). Home life was fine, parents weren't really understanding of their disability at first.]

Other contestants [Didn't join a group for investigation, due to having to sit down at the time. No hostile feelings towards anyone and would love to chat with people, but he does believe he would be unsuccessful as everyone is already grouped up. "Especially when it's nosey people who can't mind their own business. My go-to is that I was mauled by a bear. It's concerning how many people earnestly believed that one."

"But, y'know, not my fault they decided they're entitled to a stranger's medical information. And 'I was born' isn't an answer they like to hear."

"That's a smart idea, maybe I should start doing that. Sounds much cooler than needing support to walk because of feeling faint."

{Jackpot straightens up, thinking for a moment before speaking again.}

"I can't think of anything good. Any ideas?"

"Well, mauled by a bear is a classic. If you wanna stay somewhat honest, 'I value not having my head bashed on the ground' usually shuts people up."

"Could always employ a vague 'you should see the other guy'."

"So uh.. did they call you a painter? That's kinda cool."

Caspian jumps slightly in mild shock before turning to face Arbour. A light chuckle brushes past his lips as he waves a hand. "It was merely my occupation. Your words are very kind, nonetheless.. Thank you" He shrugs as he slinks closer to the other contestant. A lopsided smile then takes place on Caspian's lips. "And yet, they call you a klutz? Not that I expect the producers to be ethical, but couldn't they choose something more... unbiased? Non-judgemental, even?"

"You don't know the half of it."

[This is clearly something that pisses them off to an irrational degree]

"They basically just decided to call me disabled two times over, and they didn't even have the balls to actually use the word disabled. And like I understand 'Klutz' is shorter than ', active fucking fall risk' but–"

"Surely there's more to me than that."

[They take a breath.]

"I hate the role name. A lot. I much prefer being called Arbour. That's my name."

Sprites are for people who can go to bed when they intend to, so I'm skipping out on them at least for rn. I meant to wait till morning to do this. It is not morning. I'm scheduling this so hopefully I'm actually asleep by the time it posts

Caspian slowly nods along, paying attention to their angered words. “How revolting of the media. I didn’t think they’d stoop so low. My condolences.” His usual smile is shifted to a sneer when addressing the fact that, well, dehumanizing term used for them. His gaze then softens greatly. “Rest assured, I agree with you. There’s more to people than their moniker.”

It’s when they introduce themself with their proper name, does Caspian smile once more. “And it’s a lovely name indeed.” The painter extends a hand to Arbour, his expression much more softer and sincere than the ‘mischievous’ mask he wore. “I’m Caspian. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

"Thanks, I picked it meself."

[They're smiling now, seemingly cooled off from their ranting.]

"Caspian's nice too."

[They seem uncertain about a handshake, yet they take Caspian's hand regardless.]

"So what do you make of all this? Got anything interesting to say about it?"

“What a coincidence! I also picked my own name.” Chuckling, he firmly shakes their hand before receding the appendage.

There’s a mild exasperated sound that comes from Caspian in response to Arbour’s question . “It’s … adrenaline-inducing, to say the least. I’m not as knowledgeable about this show as my ‘Ma. Didn’t think it’d be so high stakes so early on.” A weak laugh bubbles from his lips before continuing. “Though, I’m paired with a relatively helpful group. Their company is lovely, too. Makes it all more tolerable.”

He pushes a loose strand or two back from invading his vision, arching a brow. “What about yourself? I hope this place isn’t giving you that much of a hard time.” There’s genuinely to his albeit lighthearted tone weaved within his words. “Has that bunny-eared brat harassed you at all?”

"Yeah, I never really watched this shit either. I'd get glimpses of it when they'd have it on in doctors' waiting rooms, but I never really paid attention."

[They think for a moment]

"And well, if he's said anything to me I didn't register it. It took me a bit to recover after the preliminaries, I didn't really know what was happening."

[They suddenly seem to find the floor incredibly interesting, as that's where their vision is locked.]

"I was incredibly out of it."

“The preliminaries were a doozy, I can… agree with you that.” Caspian’s voice cracks slightly after his pause, his own gaze flickering to the same floor Arbour was looking at for just a moment.

It’s there does his gaze jump back up. At them, falling into a sympathetic expression. “Are you still out of it?” His voice seems to sound gentler, moreso concerned over the other adult. “I could flag over the bartender for some water, if you’d like.”

"No, no. That's fine. I'm fine. Don't worry about it."

"It's.. it happens."

[They're oddly cagey about this, compared to the rest of the conversation.]

[You hear someone running behind you. Before you can turn to look, something lands in front of you. Or rather, someone.]

[They push themselves up with a grunt before looking at you. Despite being taller, they don’t meet your eyes, instead staring at their shoes. What in the world were they running from?]

[They finally introduce themself, extending out a gloved hand for you to shake.]

“ H-hey, ssorry if I, uhm, scared you. ”

[their voice is shaking more than you’ve noticed with any other contestant.]

“ You can just call me, uhm, Mumbly, if you didn’t catch that already, hah. “

"Oh my god are you okay?"

"Don't worry about scarin' me, seriously. It's fine."

[Their own gloved hand meets Mumbly's.]

[They visibly tense when Mumbly starts to say their role name before correcting itself]

"Don't worry about it, it's fine."

“ W-well, I was just in the vip rooms, then I saw Vick- he was talking about everyone’s crimes to Eddie- and I started writing down what he was saying… thing is, though, he noticed, and he wanted payment I didn’t exactly have, so I ran all the way here and- yeahhh, it’s done for me isn’t it? “

"Okay, okay. Pause. Slow down. Rewind."

"What in the Jesus are you on about?"

“ t-the vip room? The one in the lounge, upstairs, that requires 20 chips to enter??- shoot, Vick is gonna get me… h-he’s the trivial tycoon, by the way. ”

[They grip their hair, shrinking.]

“ Oh gosh, I don’t know what I’d do if he sent one of his lackeys to get me. Or, gosh, what if he makes everyone hate me?! “

[He covers its face and shakes its head before digging the heels of their hands into its eyes.]

“ oh no oh no… I don’t want Bree or Eddie to hate me… “

The Kirans turn around to answer and they nearly fall over each other's words and have to organise their responses quickly. The OG answers,

"Hey, sorry, you kinda caught me in the middle of a lot of anon magic..."

#2 chuckles and holds up her squeaking Impidimp as proof.

"Yeah, as you can see. Other than that..."

They both shrug.

"Not much has happened."

The OG asks,

"What about you?"

[DOUBLE VIGILANTE: 4/10]

[I CHOOSE YOU!: 3/10]

"Oh– my goodness."

[They're very obviously trying not to laugh]

"Are you– how the fuck does that even happen?"

"Holy shit, well uh.. compared to you, I think my time has been.. largely uneventful."

[A few seconds go by, then:]

"Oh! I'm Arbour, by the way.

[vengeful-vigilante]

"Kiran."

"Kiran."

They both speak at the same time and reach their hands out too, then look at each other awkwardly before pulling their hands back. #2 snickers,

"That's a good question. I have no idea how anon magic works, honestly."

OG huffs.

"The bastards have cosmic powers, I swear..."

"Oh definitely, but... Whatever, I guess."

Both shrug in the same exasperated manner. #2 hums in thought,

"What else has happened?... Oh! Nearly the entire cast of Alice and Wonderland was sent to OG."

OG grimaces.

"I watched the Doormouse die... Oh before that, my- our?"

#2 sighs and gives a tired smile.

"You can say yours..."

OG nods with an apologetic look before continuing,

"Yeah, my partner got sent to their own personal hell so I had to go deal with that. Killed a guy."

...

"You wanna pet the Pokemon?"

#2 offers, gesturing to the Charizard and Impidimp looking up at Arbour.

"That's.. interesting. I've never had that happen to me."

[they're tapping their thumb to each of their fingers.]

"And y'know, killing a guy– it happens. I think."

"But uh.. I'm good on the pokemon petting. No thanks."

Kiran huffs.

"I mean, if you met the guy, you would too..."

She scowls at the memory, but shakes it off quickly.

"I wanna get to know you better. No harm in making new friends. What kinda hobbies do you have?"

He leans against the wall casually, arms crossed.

"Oh, me?"

[They think for a little bit]

"I used to sing a lot. Not like, professionally, and I didn't have lessons or anything. Just.. how the old folks from back home used to."

"I used to act too, but that was less of a hobby at the time."

"Other than that I didn't do much, I'd spend my time with my friends when I wasn't stuck in bed, or going to appointments, or doing demonstrations."

"Not that I had any problem with it, I love my friends a whole lot. Wouldn't trade them for anything."

[vengeful-vigilante]

"Oh, acting?"

Kiran perks up curiously.

"That's pretty cool. I think I auditioned for a play once when I was in school, but I, uh..."

He hesitates, grimacing slightly as she looks down at the ground.

"D- didn't fit the look of the cast, but whatever. I'm not great at exaggerating emotions or whatever anyways."

He clears his throat.

"Uh, I like embroidery and sewing kinda stuff. It's repetitive and therapeutic. It's also a useful skill. What, uh, was your favourite play to work on?"

"'Didn't fit the look of the cast'? That's bullshit. I'm sure you would have been great."

"If it makes you feel better, I didn't get very far either. I tried to go to school for acting but–"

The character Arbour is referring to is Laura, who is disabled, but as it was written in like the 1950s or some shit, is not good disability representation. This is inspired by that one scene study I did as Laura that personally I loved doing but that's because my professor is normal.)

"Yeah, it's rough when people are assholes about stuff like that... I get it."

"Sorry you didn't get far though, bet you would've been great... And, uh, no, I was in college studying for a political studies degree, while also..."

She trails off, chewing the inside of his cheek. Should he elaborate on what she did?...

"Uhm, y- you got any siblings?"

"Oh, yeah! I've got a younger sibling, by 3 years. His name is Faith. She's 17. I talk to her more than I talk to our parents, now that I'm on my own. I always felt kinda bad, leaving her behind, but it's not like I could do anything about it."

"We.. uh.. we'd hoped that once he was old enough to move out of our parents' place he'd move in with me, but.."

"That's probably not gonna happen anymore."

"Oh, what about you? Have you got any siblings?"

Kiran frowns a little, listening to them speak patiently. She knew the feeling. That feeling of guilt, knowing you had to leave a younger sibling behind to the challenges of the world. Unable to help.

"Yeah, I get what you mean... I guess just try not to feel bad about it. It wasn't in your control."

And damn, Arbour is young... How did they end up here?

"Uh, yeah, I've got a little sister. Ladan, she's about 6 years younger than me, she's 18. She's finished high school and she's gonna try out med school after college."

A little prideful smile curls up his lips at the thought. But damn, she has to ask...

"Sorry if this is- uhm, p- personal or out of line, but uh... H- how did you end up here? You're pretty young, so..."

She rubs the back of her neck nervously.

"I got arrested."

[And then, seeming to recognize that that gives literally no information]

"But trust me; I knew what I was doing. I'm not a child. I very purposefully did what I did. And I'd do it again if I had to."

"Oh hey, I did a similar thing."

She snorts.

"Just I was a lot more violent and... Direct."

He clears his throat awkwardly.

"Meaning: arson, property damage and killed a few corrupt officers, government officials and other shitty predators. Got me a life sentence."

He scoffs.

"You're a lot stronger than I am. I don't know if I'd ever be able to actually do it. Kill someone, I mean."

"It's- it's not fair to you guys. Those- those who have medical conditions, like- I'm pretty sure my partner has chronic pain, and they don't even have a cane. I just know it's gonna bite them in the ass during one of these games."

Bracing for the inevitable will not dull the pain of loss. You will feel it again.

He takes a shuddering breath, running a hand over her twists.

"It's-... It's a severe disadvantage and- and it's not fair. At all."

"I mean, I don't know their situation, but it might actually be better for them that they don't have a cane."

"I don't technically use mine for the chronic pain. I use mine for something to grab onto so I don't bash my head open every time I fall."

[They start tapping their fingers to their thumb again]

"and if I'm being honest, the cane actually isn't the best aid for me; it was just one of the cheaper ones. By rights, I needs support on both sides, cane only gives support on one side. For both sides you'd want something like a wheelchair, walker, or crutches, depending on budget, the user's environment, and upper body strength."

"Besides, I'm certain that I'm being seen as an easy target because of it. People are always looking for someone slower than them to leave behind."

"... Sure. I guess I'll just support you guys as best as I can. It's not good to leave behind those who might struggle."

He would help in any way she could. He meant it.

He cuts herself off with a grumble before she starts barking some angry bullsit at him. A long sigh leaves her.

"Well, I... I guess I'll get going. It was nice talking to someone who's similar, in the sense that we almost have similar reasons we were arrested."

After a moment, she gives them a little smile and says,

"If you need help, for any reason, shout at me, yeah? I'd be happy to help."

#2 chuckles and holds up her squeaking Impidimp as proof.

"Yeah, as you can see. Other than that..."

They both shrug.

"Not much has happened."

Both shrug in the same exasperated manner. #2 hums in thought,

"What else has happened?... Oh! Nearly the entire cast of Alice and Wonderland was sent to OG."

"I used to sing a lot. Not like, professionally, and I didn't have lessons or anything. Just.. how the old folks from back home used to."

You know what I'm bored and on my lunch I wanna talk about the stickers on Arbour's cane

So important thing to note about Arbour is that their design is themed around sunsets. More specifically the old phrases "Red sky at night, sailors' delight, red sky at morning, sailors take warning", and well as a similar "The sky is red, the devil is dead/the sky is black, the devil is back".

So their cane is full of clouds, red/orange stars (sunset colours), there's a sun sticker, some devil horns, as well as an anchor sticker.

It's also worth noting that the cane they have is note the one that they had before being arrested. The stickers on that one are... maybe not the best for TV
