my job under siege by zant's foul army
not me finding a different non-LoZ demon wizard boyfriend so close to both zelgan week AND Ganontober >:')
I have an idea for how Ganon could be interesting. Have him find out about Demise and hate it, that he did not choose who he is but was always going to be this way, and try to somehow separate himself from demise. Maybe he has this moment of offering the same choice to link. When he realizes that this is unbreakable he can’t stand it anymore, and realizes he’s going to fight hyrule again and again forever and lose every time, he tries to destroy the whole planet so there can be no more hyrule or gerudo. And his death in the end is a tragic one and his final words are bitterly reminding Link that this will happen again and he’s just reset the cycle for their future selves.
I think the fact that we don’t even know if he knows he’s demise or not shows how bullshit his writing is.
i appreciate the idea crafting but i'm gonna keep it real with you chief: i think you might have a fundamental misunderstanding of my critiques on ganondorf's writing and i'm going to use you as an example of a major flaw that loz fans sink into. sorry
the biggest issue with approaching ganondorf from the demise angle is first and foremost the racism with the implication that the man from the desert is essentially the antichrist
and then even disregarding that, the biggest flaw about this from a writing angle is that it falls apart under the slightest bit of scrutiny — what this angle essentially does is
1. rob ganondorf of any agency whatsoever; as you even suggest, his choices are not his own
2. suggest that because his choices are not his own, that means if not for demise he might recognize hyrule as the rightful ruler, i.e. he is evil BECAUSE he defies hyrule
3. absolve hyrule completely of any possible wrongdoing, because ganondorf's actions don't actually have any rhyme or reason to them — it's just the demon in his head making him do this
sorry if this is rude, but this is not particularly "interesting" to me, nor does it really do anything to fix any of the writing issues with ganondorf that i've talked about

WTF⁉️Joe Biden signs executive order to change the phrase “burning the midnight oil” to “fucking the midnight pig” ? 😕 WHAT? Share to stop this! 🛑
signal. boost.
i don't care if this "doesn't fit your blog theme". reblog it.
That time between OoT and WW when Gan escaped the Sacred Realm and the Goddesses flooded everything
I think Ganondorf often feels like he is not good enough for Zelda, and some part of him is just waiting for her to realize that and get rid of him
this post but I dropped it in the Evil Realm

These are two panels from CybeR’s 2017 doujinshi Yume no ato.
As I much as I genuinely adore the pairings between Zelda and Link and Link and Sidon, I feel like I’ve already had my fill of stories about cute teenagers (or at least people who look and act like cute teenagers) falling in love.
But a story about how a princess consumed by anger and frustration becomes imprisoned in a castle haunted by a visible manifestation of her own negative feelings that turns out to have, at its core, an ancient and powerful wizard who is just as trapped as she is?
SIGN ME UP, MY HEART IS READY.
bitter angry people gradually finding it in them to sympathise with each other’s pain is just *clenches fist* so rarely explored in media so fuck it im gonna do it in a fanfic with a princess and an evil wizard
Sister: “Why do you like Ganondorf so much?*
*Goes and look him up*
Sister: “Oh my gooooooood that’s so racist what the fuck.”
Real question. Why does every screenshot of any landmark in a Wilds era game used in every wiki and guide look like it's been left to bleach in the sun for a decade and photographed with a dirty lens.
Two things I hope carry over from TotK regarding Ganondorf are his association with the broken-heart sigil and his being some kind of fucked up, not-quite-undead energy vampire. Like, have him suck out all the warmth in a room the second he enters it, Carol Holiday style. If he’s starving, have him jump you like a Redead and try to hug you to death. The correlation of life force with body warmth would make a lot of things about old-fashioned Redeads make sense, actually.
Okay, four things. Keep him squirting out his blood from his palms like that one lizard species that squirts blood from its tear ducts to blind predators. Keep the prehensile blood vessel hair, too. Make him like that one yokai sea vampire, the iso onna, who drains people’s blood through her hair, but with body heat/flesh. He wanted to be a monster, but he never got to actually act monster-y! Just have him be the most fucked up, scrunkly, subterranean cave crawler in Hyrule.
