Mimicking Reproduction
Complication of 5 Videos
When I was in the FIU BBC library., I created several art exercises regarding the mirror, the concept of light, and performance art. My colleague and I created performances in reference to the library as well as the BBC campus as we created each video. We even created a group collaboration out of 10 colleagues to create a “super” video. I was very surprised and happy how many unique effects a mirror can create.

Complication of the 5 videos
When I was in the FIU BBC library., I created several art exercises that are in relation to the camera and the performer. My colleague and I created performances in reference to the library as we created each video. Not only in reference to the library but to the objects of the library. We as a group were showing the concept of what is the backbone of this library and how it is portrayed.

amphi-atheneum, artist's voice in i360 XR Theatre, 3 minutes 30 seconds
amphi-atheneum was inspired by two primary characteristics of libraries – the first being the expectation for low noise levels, and the second being the library as a hub for communication and language development. Featured in the video are various auditory phenomena that are related to speech patterns and library activity, such as the whispered reading of words and harmonics found in the transition between spoken vowels, just to name a few. I intended for amphi-atheneum to acknowledge the essence of a library through sounds and serve as an exploration of how sound occupies a space.
Not only is amphi-atheneum an artwork about the sound experience in a library, but it is a tribute to the Glenn Hubert Library specifically. The video will be played in the unique i360 XR Theatre, engaging the space in a way that complements the Igloo Vision system and sound mapping possibilities. Video footage was captured in the space itself, meaning that the final video product directly references the technology on which the work is displayed. The title of the work reflects its setting as well – “amphi” means “on both sides” in Greek and is taken from the word amphitheater. The i360 XR Theatre is almost like an inverse amphitheater, where instead of the viewer surrounding the action in the center, the action surrounds the viewer. “Atheneum” is a synonym for library, specifically used in the names of institutions concerned with literary, artistic, and scientific study.

Watch videos made with Clipchamp, the best video maker for everyone.
This piece is a video work, playing with the edges of the frame as created by the observed and not the observer. I dance and stretch and creep around the frame before finally jumping and walking right on the edge of the screen, all seen through a lense.
