The past few months I kept it simple in my relationship with God. I sometimes read my Bible (not as often as I probably should have), but I hungered for worship music like never before. On difficult days, lyrics poured into my head and heart and saw me through. I like having something to lead me through the Bible and was ECSTATIC when @shereadstruth announced a sale! I go through times where God feels so far, like today… and I want you to know two key truths friends:

1) If He feels far, it isn’t because He moved. We are the ones doing the moving. He is always present, and never hides Himself away. He is readily available to us at all times and everywhere we go.

2) Our feelings are fleeting. Even if we don’t feel loved, and He feels far, it doesn’t mean that is truth. We are loved beyond belief. He is closer than we realize. This is why it is so important to hide the truth in your heart. Because when these times come, and they will, you will be able to fight these feelings away in Jesus’ name.

I ask God to remove all bitterness and envy from within me. I ask God to allow my happiness for people to be pure and genuine. I ask God to cleanse me from all feelings that are in even the slightest tainted with pride and jealousy because it is these feelings that make the heart rotten and a rotten heart is too heavy for me to carry. Dear God, purify me.
