Spark gingerly pulled a Pokemon egg out of its incubator, comfortingly petting its smooth surface, letting his fingers tracing each green spot while a smile began to cross his face. He sat down and crossed his legs, turning the egg to “look at him” and placing both hands on its sides while sitting it gently in between his legs.

“Hey little guy,” he started using his baby voice, “it’s been tough. But you made it! You’re gonna hatch soon, and when you do, I’m gonna give you a big hug!“

A crack could already be seen forming on the top, letting out the smallest traces of light. It would hatch any moment now, and Spark wanted to witness it first-hand. The birth of a Pokemon was always a magical experience, and he’d never gotten bored of watching it happen, even after years of incubating and hatching eggs.

Soon, the light began to grow brighter, and he tensed as the moment fast-approached. But, he could hear footsteps from behind, a visitor, who was about to step into a magnificent event. He turned and looked at them.
