Designer's Desk #4 - Encounter System
"From the Desk of the Designer"
My favorite mechanic of RPGs, aside from defiling the girls of a village and receiving spontaneous "visits" from a recently met nurse or barmaid (I've NEVER been able to do this in RPGs by the way), are encounters. Encounters, whether random or not, are such a fun mechanic for advancing the story, gaining experience and gear and otherwise enjoying your player character's and NPCs' hard earned abilities.
Because of this, we are going to expand the encounter beyond that of "kill the thing in front of you!". We will indeed have combat, but that is only one of our four types of encounters. They are:
Hostile
Friendly
Romantic
Sexual
And depending on your dialog or actions in one encounter mode, it can immediately, or later, lead to another encounter of a different type with the same encountered party.

Designer's Desk #3 - Let's Get Emotional

This feature has the possibility of driving my crazy and MetaKey insane in his efforts to architect the system required to simulate emotions in our NPCs. Our positive discussions have mostly been about how to simulate very basic emotions, such as happiness, sadness.
I even sent MetaKey a simple illustration last week:
Three days layer, he replies with this:
With the caption, "And wouldn't it be cool if not only the player's entire list of past decisions are taken into account of the NPCs behavior towards the player, but even external forces. Suppose it is raining, and the NPC hates rainy days, the interaction and dialog would be different!".
Yes MetaKey, while that IS cool, I would prefer we not have to develop a sentient artificial intelligence to manage the million+ chemical reactions that determines mood at any given time in an NPCs life.
But, we will indeed be implementing some basic behavior modification, based on an NPCs "mood" and key decisions the player has made.

But before I could go outside and start rubbing myself against that sexy Birch across the street, he further clarified that we are talking about "Decision Trees". Wuuuuuh? So MetaKey has gotten me this really cool dialog tree tool and preloaded it with empty dialog and player decisions. I can say so far, I'm really enjoying it. I love writing dialog, and I can see that is a good thing! Time to get some conversations started!

The purpose of this build is to get feedback on the player and camera controls. I set it up in the style of my favorite RPGs, Neverwinter Nights (1 & 2).

We've had much discussion and performed a lot of research around the player's character customization and what content we should allow/disallow based on the player's gender. We've decided to go full-on Libertarian, and allow the player to be male, female or hermaphrodite and anywhere between masculine and feminine for any of those choices.
Obviously, this decision affects all the content in the game. And since we don't want to alienate any of our audience, our player's will be able to select their accepted content in the game, such as:
[X] Female Companions [ ] Male Companions [ ] Hermaphrodite Companions [ ] Anal Sex [X] Bondage [ ] [Insert Next Fetish Here] ;)
You get the picture. The reason is because sexuality is a very personal subject, and the purpose is to ensure the player is able to play the game without fear of their player being subjected to acts they may find very offensive.

With all our personality issues finally resolved, and Leafly's promise to stop sexually harassing MetaKey, we are now set ablaze in our development efforts, as of December 7th, 2017.
For this short week, Leafly now understands the initial scenes in her own warped way, an initial alpha build has been made to show off player and camera controls and many designs have been made.

Designer's Desk #1 - Game Genre
It's my job to give our game an identity. WHAT ARE WE?! Some times I think we are Action, other times Adventure, tiny times RTS, but most of the time Adventure. Will a four-way even work in this manner?! Actually no, maybe a three-way though. We are definitely going with rich story line, immersive world, unique engaging lore and of course, the sexual mechanics this is all built on.
And so it all comes down to this mix:
40% - Adventure, 50% - RPG, 10% - Action
Of course, this is from a designer's perspective. For marketing purposes, we'll just call it, "The Sexiest Epic RPG You Ever Played!"

Writer’s Desk #1 - Story Thoughts
As Alice would say, “From the desk of the Writer!” Well, I’ve been given an alien planet in the solar system as my blank canvas. This is going to be fun. After our initial game design meetings this past week, I can say this is going to be an epic story filled with political intrigue, sexual dynamics and economic factors, with side stories strewn throughout. I’m determined that our primary story line and all our side quests will weave together into one cohesive structure.
Developer’s Desk #1 - Game Engine
Hello everyone! MetaKey here, with Alice’s switchblade at my throat, ensuring I write this. We’ve spent two weeks debating the pros and cons or Source 2 (the one I know the most), Unreal 4 (my favorite) and Unity (my least favorite). I’m neutral to announce we have chosen Unity3D for business reasons - it’s broad platform support mainly and pay as you grow model. I’ll be ok, I guess I can give up C++ for C#, even though only one of us knows memory management very well in this case.

Hello everyone, Alice here to announce our new communication series I call, The Desks. I’ve made it mandatory that everyone communicate something of interest at least once a week. This is so I can say, “From the desk of so and so, comes…”, and oh how I love saying those words! It makes me feel like the journalism major that I’m not, speaking like a news paper editor.
Company Update #1 - Introductions
Hello out there all you fans of adult games, games in general, grew up playing games, was 5 when first Nintendo came out and just otherwise love sex. This is our first official update. We have been working hard these past three weeks brainstorming the way to move forward in our respective roles. We also realized it is a bit LAME that we didn't put in names, at least usernames, which we have now resolved in the About Us section. And so, here are the introductions.
Introducing the Team
Alice Starling - Community Manager: I'm sure you are all aware by now that Alice is our most public figure. She will directly reply to questions and perform all the posting for us on the various social media networks that none of us understand.
Leafly - Writer: Leafly is our illustrious writer. She is blonde, 18, female and looks just like an anime character. She is also Korean, so figure that one out. And finally, her warped mind scares the rest of us, so we know with her driving the story, we will all be successful, or in prison.
MetaKey - Developer: Long time member of LUGs (Linux User Groups, MetaKey actually wanted to force everyone to google search it) around the world, this sweaty palmed greasy haired hairy assed (presumably) manly software engineer writes every golden line of the machine learning artificial intelligence engine we designed to write the actual game.
AtlasDrugged - Designer: Atlas' story is still a mystery, including how he got the name. In any case, he is the super humble game designer and head of the company. And since he isn't writing this, I'll go ahead and say we think he is pretty awesome too, though he would be reluctant to agree. Atlas, sometimes not drugged, spends his days, nights, weekends and holidays thinking about game mechanics, fun, sex and business development.

Trouvés Introduction
"Trouvés" is a wild sexual adventure set in an alien world on a recently discovered planet in the solar system.
Our story begins with you, our young innocent virgin hero, on a spaceship headed towards planet Trouvés. You are part of a team of 220 people from diverse backgrounds and skillsets to first cautiously investigate the planet from orbit, and then to further land and study it if possible.
It's been seven years since first discovery of the new planet. Named by it's discoverer, Alfred Carter, who incidentally, loves the French language, Trouvés may hold the key to humanity's future. The initial findings of the planet are that it may contain water and a breathable atmosphere. Such radical findings launched a raging political, scientific and economic debate across the world, with the biggest question on everyone's mind - why didn't we see this planet before?
With such broad implications to Earth and the rest of the solar system, no one was willing to take the time to send a satellite to investigate the planet first. Earth's super powers immediately began plans to send humans and robots to the planet. It's a 2.5 year journey to the planet, nestled between the orbits of Jupiter. So the parties involved are all-in on their respective exploration plans.
Which brings us back to you, a crew member on The Apen, the primary ship built by the Discovery Group, the only multinational nonpolitical organization to pursue exploration of planet Trouvés.
You awake in a lucid state from your deep sleep - naked, cold and hungry. Having trained for this many times before, you lay patiently in your stasis chamber, knowing it will be many hours before you are able to move, as your body temperature is slowly brought up to a functional 36.8C.
Now fully awake and able to move, you disconnect the health and monitoring equipment from your body, open your chamber door and step out into your small crew cabin. Knowing everyone else must be waking too, you grab your service tablet and open your room door. It's time to eat and get to work!
First Game (Trouvés)
Our first game has been selected to be an Adventure game with Role Playing mechanics. The reasons for this are manifold.
We've already worked on games in this genre.
Story-telling is an excellent format for experiencing sexual content.
Adventure games are a great format to consume stories.
Sexual visuals coupled with sound and text narration stimulates the brain, which stimulates other areas of the body.
