Nice interactive user experience!
I like how this project relates to something that can help me in the future with internships and possible jobs. Creating my own portfolio website is a very useful to know how to do. I also liked being able to create my own personal logo that i can then put on a business card and resume. I also enjoyed learning how to incorporate a gallery in my website, this is also another thing that will come in handily when designing websites in the future. If I would change anything it would be the pieces in my portfolio I need to go back and redesign things that I have done in previous classes. This last project has made me want to take Interactive design 2 because there are so many things left to learn about web design, and so many cool things that you can do.
There was a lot of freedom with this project , which i liked but it also took me a while to come up with a theme for the website since there were so many different directions you could go. Overall I'm pretty happy with the way that my website turned out. I wanted to go for a clean modern feel and an easy to navigate website. Images that went well together were hard to find so I was a little limited in that aspect of designing such an image based website. I could have shot my own images. I could have tried a different layout but while looking at other websites i like the ones that were all one page and you can click on the menu or scroll to the page that you wanted to visit. I would like to know more about the coding that goes along with a scrolling menu.

This is my first time designing something for the web and i have to say its a lot different than designing for print. I chose horseback riding as my interest, and decided to design a website for the barn that i ride at. I got my inspiration from a website i found on the internet obviously mine is not as pretty but i like the idea of using wood and i really like the simple menu with a big picture. I feel like the photo shop stuff we went over yesterday helped and the more i start using it the more i will learn. this was a lot of trial and error.
I really enjoy playing with typography instead of images. I stuck with the colors from the original and played around with different type arrangements. Maybe i should have switched up the colors to something else. I would really like to go over photoshop i little more i am very comfortable in indesign but not so much with photoshop.
Introduction Assignment
http://www.freepeople.com
When you first come to the site I find it very engaging. There is text at the top that is easily accessible and helps you find what you’re looking for quickly. There is a big image with text on it that draws your eye to what clothing they are focusing on this month or sales that are going on. I think the visual hierarchy makes a lot of sense.

The set up of this website is similar to free people but it is simplified and there is a lot more negative or white space. I think it is still very engaging it is just a different feel. The information is laid out in a similar way with text at the top that allows you to easily find what you are shopping for. The hierarchy on this website also makes a look of sense. The biggest thing on the page is the preview of the fall collection, which I think makes a lot of sense because that is what they are trying to sell.
3. http://www.moravian.edu
The website is engaging and the rotating pictures make you want to look more into what they are offering at the college. The information is easily accessible and there is a search bar to help you find something specific more easily. I like how there are important statistic about the college that draw your eye on the home page. It makes sense that these statistics are bigger and in different colors because it makes the college look more appealing to perspective students.

When you first open this website there is a lot to look at. I feel like it is not as organized as the pervious websites that I have talked about. The thing that pops out at me the most is that big Labor Day sale they are having. This is good when trying to sell a product to someone. So I would say that the hierarchy is affective. The information is still pretty easily accessible as well.

If you are interested in joining Greek life I feel like this website is very engaging and appealing. The information is easily accessible. The picture slide show also makes it engaging to a perspective new member. There is not a ton of hierarchy I think there are ways that it could be more effective.
6. http://www.pandora.com
I think that Pandora is very user friendly and engaging. I like being able to give a song a thumbs up or down I think that makes it very interactive and fun. The information is very easily accessible. The visual hierarchy also makes sense.
7. http://www.netflix.com/WiHome
Netflix is a site that I visit frequently the site is very engaging with the different categories that move so you can find a show or movie that interests you. All shows and movies are organized and are very accessible to users. The visual hierarchy makes sense and is organized in a good way.
8. http://www.pinterest.com
You can spend hours on this site you can look up anything that interests you. This is a great place to find all sorts of inspiration. Information is easily accessible and the search bar is easy to find. There is not a ton of hierarchy on this website.
9. http://www.ebay.com
This site does not jump out and grab my attention when I first come to it. The first thing that I looked at were the adds on the right hand side. But the site is very user friendly. And the information that you might be looking for is easily accessible. The hierarchy makes sense.
10. http://www.wikipedia.org
The layout is very simple. There is a lot of white space witch I find appealing and inviting. I think that the site is engaging it is easy to find what your looking for it is also very easy to change languages so this site has made it easily usable for many different people. I think that the hierarchy also works well and makes sense.
This is my interactive design blog.
