Looks promising! The 1.5-3V motor didn't generate quite enough force. A 3-6V motor would do much better. Silicon rubber density isn't a lot higher than water, which is nice. As flagellum I tried a stiff and thin cable with a smooth surface.

Martha and I made a small plotter bot with Arduino, two stepper motors and a Bluetooth transceiver.
