The process of election affords a moral certainty, that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications. Talents for low intrigue, and the little arts of popularity, may alone suffice to elevate a man to the first honors in a single State; but it will require other talents, and a different kind of merit, to establish him in the esteem and confidence of the whole Union, or of so considerable a portion of it as would be necessary to make him a successful candidate for the distinguished office of President of the United States. It will not be too strong to say, that there will be a constant probability of seeing the station filled by characters pre-eminent for ability and virtue. And this will be thought no inconsiderable recommendation of the Constitution, by those who are able to estimate the share which the executive in every government must necessarily have in its good or ill administration.

HI HOW ARE YOU
I HAVE BEEN WELL
I am preparing for the Bar Exam, which is next week
Why did I ever become a lawyer
How are you lovely people
hi how have you been i’ve been ok except i’m studying for the bar and it’s like school without all the parts i actually like
what’s up
I graduate from law school this weekend.
I'm going to be published in the Law Review. I actually have a goddamn scholarly publication on my c.v. now. I've spent the entire day on cloud nine.
One thing you could do to make yourself more attractive as a potential law professor hire would be to get a history PhD.
OH. THANK YOU, ADVISOR. I'LL JUST GO, YOU KNOW, DO THAT AND BE RIGHT BACK
Hi friends. So I'm helping somebody to amend the bylaws of an organization I'm involved in. The language of the proposed amendment used "him or her" pronouns. Somebody brought to my attention that the rest of the governing documents use the generic male pronoun. It has been objected that the use of "him or her" pronouns excludes non-binary persons, and that the generic male pronoun is actually more inclusive.
Thoughts?
And we are here as on a darkling plain Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight, Where ignorant armies clash by night.

not that that’s a bad thing, every adolescent excrescence is necessary (not to be wallowed in or picked at but necessary)
I couldnt stop picking at it so now my writing is covered in gross pock marked scars
all mental illness really is is the pathologizing of human emotions/behaviors deemed abnormal under a society that prioritizes a narrow type of productivity. that’s where all the stigma comes from. i feel the same way bout “developmentally disabled” too. there’s nothin abnormal about us. what’s abnormal is the capitalist social order that deems certain neurotypes “other” or “typical”
Ok. But one could say the same thing about physical pathologies -- we pathologize bodily functions deemed abnormal under a society that prioritizes productivity instead of, idk, the unique bodily behaviors exhibited by having the flu or bubonic plague or paralysis. But I think it would be a mistake to ditch the entire category of *pathology* as irredeemably useless or bound up in capitalism because of that.
The much harder tasks are to interrogate in a fine-grained way how our understandings of particular pathologies are constructed under capitalism and to imagine how a revolutionary social order would restructure those understandings.

acmmr replied to your post:i have a date on wednesday i don’t go on dates,...
let’s assume you’ll at least learn something and that will be worth it?
That's the hope. These are a set of skills I need to work on, I think, since I wont be in the warm all-encompassing social embrace of a school environment soon and will have to find romantic partners like every other honest-to-god adult I know.
