In 2015, during one of the worst periods of my life, I started a comedy blog that in retrospect was completely stealing the format of Conan’s In The Year 3000 bit. I took visual aesthetics from Escape From New York’s Graphical User Interfaces. It quickly turned from comedy to a short form poetry outlet. It quickly amassed 17,000 followers and I got scared and 'ended it' after a year of posting 2-4 times daily.
After I got scared, I opened it up to submissions. People got my words tattooed on their flesh, people used my posts for the basis of their final art assessments, people used my posts for the basis of Captain AmericaxWinter Soldier fanfiction gifsets.
There are still 14,000 followers and the posts are still circulated throughout the crumbling infrastructures of tumblr dot com.
I packed the thoughts and feelings into a little room in a corner of my mind, but it still always held a place. I always wanted to do some sort of physical copy of this weird era of me writing one sentence posts at 3am. It’s been over a decade but I am doing it now. There are over 730 posts, so this is volume 1 of a physical copy of inthefuture1.
