“You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.”
— Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, from ‘The Little Prince’
“It has been awhile since I spoke to a friend. I spend most days at home reading books. Just writing all my sorrows away. And it gets dull after awhile. Spending most of my time alone in the dark. Missing the feeling of what it’s like to have a social life. But the sad thing is…. I am anxious with the slightest social interaction because I feel like I’m ugly and awkward and boring. And I use thought as an excuse for me not to participate in life because I am afraid to live. And the truth is…. I want to die. But I am afraid of pain. And I use fear as an excuse to continue my existence because I am also afraid to die.”
— Juansen Dizon, Confessions of a Wallflower page 63
This is me.
“I have no friends. But in the morning after I wake up I talk to the sun. I tell her about you and how your love lights up my whole world. I have no friends. But at noon I talk to the clouds. Asking them about conspiracies about storms, typhoons, and hurricanes. Asking which one of them carried the most hydrogen. Asking them what ozone layer is the best to live in. I have no friends. But in the afternoon I talk to the birds. Asking them where they came from. Asking them if they have a destination. Asking them who their moms and dads are. I have no friends. But in the evening I talk to the moon. I tell him about you and how your love lights up my whole world. Especially when my whole world is dark.”
— Juansen Dizon, Confessions of a Wallflower page 206
Something i needto remember for myself
“How to be strong: There are no rules. You are already strong. Even when you are crying. Even when you are at your lowest point. Even when you are falling apart. Your strength is in your survival. Your strength is within you always. And besides, didn’t anyone ever tell you that strength looks so different on us all?”
— Nikita Gill
“The low-maintenance woman, the ideal woman, has no appetite. This is not to say that she refuses food, sex, romance, emotional effort; to refuse is petulant, which is ironically more demanding. The woman without appetite politely finishes what’s on her plate, and declines seconds. She is satisfied and satisfiable.
A man’s appetite can be hearty, but a woman with an appetite is always voracious: her hunger always overreaches, because it is not supposed to exist. If she wants food, she is a glutton. If she wants sex, she is a slut. If she wants emotional care-taking, she is a high-maintenance bitch or, worse, an “attention whore”: an amalgam of sex-hunger and care-hunger, greedy not only to be fucked and paid but, most unforgivably of all, to be noticed.”
— Hunger Makes Me, Jess Zimmerman
Christ, this article made me legit well up in tears at work…
“Women talk ourselves into needing less, because we’re not supposed to want more—or because we know we won’t get more, and we don’t want to feel unsatisfied. We reduce our needs for food, for space, for respect, for help, for love and affection, for being noticed, according to what we think we’re allowed to have. Sometimes we tell ourselves that we can live without it, even that we don’t want it. But it’s not that we don’t want more. It’s that we don’t want to be seen asking for it. And when it comes to romance, women always, always need to ask.”
THIS. SO FUCKING THIS.

“i. there are days when my stars align just for me. my inner cosmos telling me to write about the pain. my inner cosmos telling me to expand the universe within. ii. there are days when my stars collapse. i am made of pure darkness. i am made of pure anxiety— terrified of not seeing the sun again. iii. there are days when my stars rise— like the infinite suns that they are. illuminating my being.”

“Your tumblr speaks volumes about who you are as a person. It shows what kind of images you see in your head, who you love, who you hate, even what you think about other people. But most of all - it has all of the words you never said to people, all of the words you couldn’t have said but should have said.”
