002. sing [open]

In the middle of the garden she sat their solitary. No one was around at this time period. The lights were not out yet, it was around ten at night. Sayaka sat down on one of the benches and stared into the skies, reminiscing her days with her former classmates. A faint smile could be detected upon her facial expressions.

She really missed them, she really did. A tear fell from one her eyes. Despite having a positive outlook in her new school, she still couldn't help but to feel a little bit lonely. But she bit back with a smile and started to sing.

As the song progressed even more, she felt more tears welling up her eyes. She had thoughts of her past and they felt bittersweet right now. Wouldn't it be great if she could see Asahina and Sakura obsessing over donuts and protein shakes? Wouldn't it be wonderful if she was with Leon and Naegi again, having fun like the old days? And seeing Chihiro becoming a happier person after spending more time with them--no, those days were not possible anymore.

Then she end up cutting the song because her voice croaked a little. Sayaka wiped her tears away. There there, cry it out. She hoped to feel better until she heard a rustle noise. She turned around in surprise.

"W-Who goes?!"

Hopefully it wasn't any thugs or burglars. After all, that could be quite frightening. But regardless, she was scared and tensed up from the thoughts.

[Change was never easy on Tooth. She always set a schedule for herself and became dedicated to it, thus making change rather hard. After dropping her things off and collecting her new textbooks, Tooth decided to do one thing she hadn’t in a while—relaxed. She admired the garden, appreciating the beauty of all the plants. Even the weeds seemed to have something lovely about them, at least in her opinion.

Tooth turns to face the other female, offering a friendly smile. Tooth may have a hard time adjusting to change, but she wasn’t shy and was always ready to make new friends.]

Hello!

[Tooth responds with a chirp.]

It is, isn’t it?

[That’s when Tooth notices the idol’s smile—-it’s gorgeous! She tries her best to refrain from observing the other girl’s mouth and admiring her teeth. It probably wasn’t a good idea, most people freaked out whenever she did that.

Instead, Tooth holds out her hand for a shake, bracelets jingling.]

I’m Toothiana. I hope we can become friends, Maizono.

Well she got a friendly person responding to her! What a nice way to greet Sayaka on her first day here. She kept her smile and nodded in agreement. Then she realized she should probably go get her textbooks that she haven't yet. Hm, maybe her newly acquainted acquaintance can help her out here! She waved at Toothiana before responding to her greeting.

"Nice to meeting you Toothiana-San! I hope we can become friends too."

The she placed a finger on her chin and made a thoughtful look. Then she clasped her hands together and looked at Toothiana momentarily.

"Er...I know we just met but can you help me out? I'm going to have to go retrieve my textbooks and I have quite a handful...Would it be alright if you helped me carry a book or two back to my dorm? It's not too far away from the office I believe, I'm in room A-1 if you're wondering!"

She didn't have to do it for Sayaka but it would be very nice of her. After all, she wasn't exactly what people would call macho. The idol did have quite a few books to lift back especially since she was taking some textbook worthy courses. However, she was pretty excited to be there since she had some classes that are related to music! She loved music of course since she was a former idol after all.

A voice rang out just as his canines sank into his food, and he takes his sweet time chewing the morsel of food before flicking his gaze up at the newcomer. Smart girl, apparently, kept her distance.

It’s hard not to recognize her either, she was that one idol right? That — Maizono girl, or whatever. Despite not being into her specific brand of music her level of popularity was enough to bleed into his business every now and then.

He should be honored, right? For such a cute-looking girl to approach him so freely like that.

But, it’s better for her to stay away from him after all. Especially with his background and all.

”Shouldn’t you be bothering someone else?” Somewhere far away from here, preferably. “I’m sure there are others who’d kill to spend time with a girl such as yourself.” He’s counting himself out of that. There’s no need for them to interact as far as he knows, unless she’s got business with him.

Which, as much as it got him curious, he highly doubts that that’s the case. Why would a popstar like herself need the services of the yakuza?

Not answering her question doesn’t seem very polite either, but he never did hold himself high on the manners aspect; especially with strangers despite how popular they might be.

She didn't quite get what he meant by bothering someone else? Was she a bother to him? That worried her a little bit regardless, he didn't seem like a person who meant any harm at least. He, however did seem like a student from Hope's Peak...or was she wrong?

He probably knew her judging by the way he spoke. It wasn't surprising actually. After all, Sayaka was very popular even during her time in Hope Peak's Academy. Still, her smile drop a little bit at the words. The person in front of her didn't seem like a bad person but just a little bit harsh...Probably because he was brought up that way? Sayaka had a general idea as she probably seen quite a handful of people along her career path anyways.

"Err...Everyone had someone with them and I saw you sitting here alone. I thought you would like someone to talk to maybe you know?" That was just half of the reasons, Maizono Sayaka hated being alone all the time at a different place.

"But even once in a while pop stars like me likes to meet new people! I'm Maizono Sayaka, it's nice to meet you! What might your name be?"

Sayaka was obviously still oblivious to the fact that he was from the yakuza but she wasn't a shallow person after all. After all, she was on good terms with Oowada Mondo and he was a gang leader before coming into her old school!

It almost felt like she was a freshman all over again. Almost as if she was re-enrolling Hope's Peak Academy for the very first time, again. However, things were different now. There was no interview to ask if she was okay to spend the rest of her life there or not. Heck, she was still pretty upset at whatever glitched that had happened at that time but she knew that she had to move forward.

Sayaka took a step into the school and found herself in a garden. Wow, the plants were rather pretty weren't they? It wasn't the first time that the idol had seen things like that but she couldn't help but to be a little bit fascinated.

Maybe this place wasn't that bad after all. Now, if only she could find her dorm. Ah yes, she was offered a map or something when she received her letter! She looked at it attentively and marked her own location. Okay, so she was at the garden and now she wanted to head to the dorms.

It was across from the office so she turned around and--a ha! There they were!

Now which dorm was she assigned to? Ah, right, dorm A-1! Alright, dorm A-1 she shall go. She went inside and noticed that she should be having roommates -well, hopefully they can get along. She dropped her things there before taking the school map with her so she wouldn't get lost.

Before she knew it, she was already at the garden again. She looked up to the sky and smiled at how nice the weather was. Sayaka kept her smile and greeted the next coming person.

"Ah hello there. Isn't it a great afternoon to be at today?" Then she paused a little before realizing she didn't properly greet the stranger."I haven't introduced myself have I? I'm Maizono Sayaka"

Small talk first, then be friends with them if they were nice to her!

His mornings start out like clockwork, and this isn’t any different.

He’s up an hour before his alarm even starts blaring and sets off to make use of the bathroom the dorms have so graciously granted them. Between the two bedrooms and the four males that this unit currently houses, he isn’t about to get stuck waiting for his turn. He isn’t going to take his chances on the hot water supply either.

Thirty minutes in and he’s already stepping out of the bathroom and adjusting his tie in its proper place; hair free of evidence that he’s just woken up, shoes polished and suit pressed and smoothed over to rid of any creases. He had a reputation to keep, after all, he can’t look raggedy simply because he lives in a dormitory.

Which, for all intents and purposes, would suit him just fine for now as his roommates aren’t particularly annoying anyway. He’d still prefer his own room but alas, that simply wasn’t how the school system works and he’ll deal with that.

The alarm he’s set has once again proven itself useless and he finds himself unplugging it to get rid of the redundant thing. He’s never slept in, and he wasn’t about to get started. It was becoming a pain to have to shut it off every single morning anyway.

Classes went by without a hitch and soon enough lunch time rolls in with the unmistakable chime that rang throughout the academy. So you head straight for the crowded cafeteria to grab something before it gets too crowded and head for the garden to claim a bench for yourself.

His bench. This is his bench now. If he had a knife on him there wasn’t a doubt that he’d even go as far as carving his name into the wooden bench. But alas, he can’t carry stuff like that around (not that it’s stopped him before). Still, the point stands and he isn’t about to just share his seat with someone for chitchat or something as stupid as that.

With his background it wouldn’t be a surprise if people gave him a wide radius of breathing room. For safety. But that’s none of his concern, he’s hungry and he wants to sink his teeth into his hamburger so damn right he’s going to do that.

This was different from Hope's Peak Academy, definitely. Back there, she had co-ed classes where people got along equally but now it seemed like the girls and boys were separated by... something that she could not name.

She clenched her palm into a loose fist and looked up into the sky with a smile on her face. Sayaka couldn't possibly drown herself in the thoughts of not being able to see her former classmates again. Sure it would be a pity but she shouldn't dwell on just that, she could always meet some new friends here right?

Though she had not yet found her dorm yet, that was a pretty sad thing actually. Maizono Sayaka was never much of a heavy packer. She had a few of her favourite things from her childhood maybe and some pictures of her friends from Hope's Peak Academy but that was probably it. Believe it or not, the former idol wasn't as finicky as everyone else would think she was.

A light sigh came upon her lips as she read the information on her list. It was nothing like her entrance to the former academy. No interview, nothing too special, just a note and letter. Girl dorm A-1 and she's attending Ashbury Academy.

It wasn't like the items in her bag was too heavy, she had them in a bag where she should easily use as a backpack instead. With a smile the blue haired teen strolled through the school grounds.

Her blue eyes darted around a little. Well, it definitely wasn't a bad place to stay at. The trees and the atmosphere was pretty nice. It definitely was a different atmosphere compared to Hope's Peak Academy but it wasn't a bad difference--no, not at all.

Then she saw a male sitting on one of the benches. He looked rather gloomy... Well, maybe she could approach him? Despite being a former idol, she wasn't a type to be a jerk to loners or something. Maybe saying 'hello' would be nice.

She walked up to him, sensing that he probably didn't want anyone sitting there. After all, she does have a good intuition so it was a nice asset for her to have in situations with strangers.

"Hello there. Are you a new student as well?"

Sayaka stood at a considerable distance as she assumed that he didn't want his personal space violated or anything like that. After all, she's got a good intuition right? She can totally sense that--okay, maybe the majority could've sensed that as well.
