Well, sure! But I'm mostly passionate about my ninken and I think children generally like dogs, eh? 'Course, Kuromaru's no children's play toy! Good luck to the child who tries to scratch behind his ear!

It does sound interesting, but I suppose no one's ever heard of a dog with a poisonous bite. Maybe our natures weren't meant to cross, y'know? But.. if you happen across a poison that seems like the perfect fit for me, don't hesitate to let me know about it.

Well, a lot of poisons are capable of killing by absorption. For instance, an unprotected hand may be exposed to poisons and can die from your skin absorbing it. The particular poison my blade is tipped with is easily absorbed as well — as long as I can make enough contact to pierce the skin, respiratory shutdown should occur within a few minutes!

However, if you tipped your claws with poison, you could definitely use less deadly poisons. Ones that cause nausea are probably best, actually, as they could give the edge you need to catch your opponent off-guard. If you do use a poison like that, I recommend building an immunity, or having pills as back-up. You don’t want your foes getting away, or worse, because you got yourself with your own tricks…

Believe me, poisons are very common and, with some research, I’m sure you could find a great option.

Hmm well, that's an interesting approach but... I don't really think I'd want to smell their sick after, to be honest! My nose is too sharp--I'd still suffer from a trick like that! Haha!

I think that that mindset is probably more for our mental health than anything!

You wouldn’t even have to scratch your neck — based on what poisons you choose, you might have poisoned yourself just by applying it too close to your skin. Any contact with your skin may not be healthy! I’ll leave you to the rip and tear method — it is what you do best.

I’ve been doing well! It’s hard adjusting but I’m trying my best to make up for lost time. So far so good!

It is quite effective! One simple, well placed strike is all that is necessary… I would love to go on about its uses and the pros and cons of kenjutsu as a style, but I’ll most likely bore you as I have many others.

It doesn't bore me, I just can't see any way I could use it myself. Poisoning my nails seemed like it would become problematic very fast, don't you think? I get an itch on my neck, and that's all it takes! What a sad way to go that would be! Haha!

Ah, yes, it seems our generation may be falling behind these days. We’ve got quite an influential wave of young jounin. I’ll be damned if I’m not proud of them, though!

Unfortunately, no. It seems less and less ninja show any interest in kenjutsu. And those who do excel so quickly elsewhere that they tend to discard that knowledge for more potent techniques. I might just be old-fashioned, it seems.

Ah, well! We all get old eventually--so long as we don't roll over and die I see no reason not to make room from some of the youngsters.

That so? Well, I can't say I'm one for kenjutsu either--I prefer just using my claws, heh. But I'm surprised there's so little interest shown in your methods--it certainly makes for a quick and effective kill. Surely that should draw some attention!

It must be for the best, then! Kiba must be gracious for all of the missions — he is a very dedicated ninja. Far more than I seem to be, these days. I simply do my work, and move onto the next.

I’d definitely enjoy having a couple new souls working in my specialization, that’s for sure.

Exactly! I don't mind stepping aside sometimes if it helps my boy improve anyway! The runt was always such a layabout growing up, it's always nice to see him applying himself and trying to improve. And that goes for his whole generation, what with a boy Kiba's age running the whole of Konoha now--it's good to see them all take initiative. Makes me feel like the village might be in capable hands.

I’m sure that’d never happen, sadly — I fear he’s not learned much from he all these years. I appreciate the compliment, though. It’s actually refreshing to hear we aren’t grouped as similar.

Ha, I’ve been quite busy, actually. I’ve been given a few missions here and there, and they’ve taken up more of my time than expected. For now, it seems like I’m on a vacation! Have you been just as engrossed with missions as well? Or has all of your focus been here in the village?

Things have been slower for me since Kiba reached jounin--we both have the same specialty, so now missions I would have got get divided between us unless they're especially dangerous and they think a specialized jounin is the best way to go.

I don't mind, though. Kiba enjoys the work and I enjoy having more time to myself!

Heh, I'll let it slide because I know how you meant it, but he'd be lucky if I treated him like a dog. Kuromaru is a bit more respectful than him though--but on that note, maybe he could help me keep Genma in line? I know he's very fond of my dog! Best of friends, really.

He sure is his own man, all right... Anyway, that's all I ask. I can only hope someday you rub off on him, a bit. He acts like a child when he doesn't get his way!

I got pretty close, but I didn't feel like he was worth exerting my energy over. Guess in that regard, I can understand you not wanting to babysit him.

The least you could do is teach him to be a bit more respectful though! I can't even tell you how many times he tried to talk me into taking a shower with him--just can't get it through his head when a woman isn't interested in him!
