She ingratiated herself with people and persuaded them to lead sinful lives so that after death their souls would be easier to take to hell. The sinners themselves became the only light and fuel in hell; souls are represented as material, not as a separate race in my setting. Upon entering heaven, their consciousness was woven into the vast, shared consciousness of heaven. Heaven is impossible to see or comprehend with human senses, so upon descending to earth, they assumed a half-bird, half-human form. Angels track down human souls and take them for themselves; the more sinful a person is, the more clearly they are seen by hellish creatures and less clearly by angels. But there were also angels who were sent to places where riots were raging to determine if demons were present. Sylvia was one of these. That's how she met Nona in human disguise, while Nona fell in love with her victim—a desperate middle-aged man. They feuded with Sylvia and were unable to banish each other, but later Nona distanced herself from the feud with Sylvia, deciding to escape hell forever to her lover. However, he, upon learning her nature, despaired and decided to commit suicide. Nona barely survived this and went into hiding after an attempted suicide, from which she was saved by Sylvia, who had become imbued and was no longer under the influence of heaven, for which she was banished to hell. Later, in the present day, Sylvia and Nona meet in a squad of demons and angels who have fled from their worlds, who want to get rid of the discord between the races and forever create a utopia out of the world. Nona and Sylvia will work together to save the souls of people who were not yet chosen by either side, essentially giving them life after death in a pocket dimension that functions in some aspects like limbo.
