There was this one customer, one with a mullet and a bad attitude, that came into the coffee shop that seemed like everyday, asking for the same thing day in and day out: black coffee. Just that. No cream, no sugar, no espresso shots. Nothing like that. Lance would be nice to him all the time, and tell him to have a good day and all, but he never got a response back. And being trained to be management, he’s not about to go off on this guy as much as he wants to.
But came one day, where the same guy came in, but this time when Lance took care of him, he asked for a latte with tons of espresso shots and as much as he hated his attitude, this guy looked like death; pale, dark circles under the eyes, and he’s sure that he sounded tired, too. Needless to say, he’s concerned, and he voices such as he punches in the order slowly.
“Listen, dude,” He knows he should say ‘sir’ or ‘ma’am’ with customers, but this was a different story. He could always say that this guy was his friend - which he sometimes got that odd feeling he was - if his managers questioned it. “I know it’s none of my business, but all that espresso is going to kill you. How about you try something else? Like tea? To relax yourself a little bit.”
