Under the volcano, Brice Guilbert (because)
The headcanon that Ryland Grace is aroace is so important to me. Because the respresentation of his relationship with Rocky being the most important relationship in his life is SO meaningful.
Like that’s just his buddy. His little guy. A friend, and that’s ENOUGH for him. It’s the most meaningful relationship he has and will have and he’s perfectly content with it
the aroace read of ryland grace is so personal and haunting. "you don't even have a dog." was it not enough to love the world for the sake of living in it. was it not enough to live for the thrill of discovery. was it not enough to smile at your students. was it not enough to be afraid.
Ok but like. The idea that Kakashi has thought himself dead for years. The idea that he viewed his fire as borrowed from Obito. The idea that he would have just . . . stopped, if it hadn’t been for his promise to Obito, his promise to see the world for him. The idea that he stood there on a battlefield watching as the boy he considered to be his Will of Fire turned out to be a man determined to burn everything down
YES YES YES I'VE BEEN SAYYINNNNGGG THISSSS.
Kakashi who's life isn't really his. It's Obito's. He can't die because Obito deserves to see the future. Even if it's like this and Kakashi refuses to take that away from him too. Not after he gave Kakashi his everything and then some.
So he won't kill himself and he won't chase after death because that's not his right. He doesn't get that opportunity anymore. He's tired and he's tired and he's tired but he has to keep going because ultimately it's not for him. It's for Obito. There's a question about living for others and that being easier than living for oneself or if it's the reverse that's true and I think Kakashi is a marvel of a study in the former. Or at least he is at this point in his life.
But then the war happens and there is that same boy, now man, his every reason for why he is the way he is. Someone who's words and actions sculpted him into the person he is today and he's killing Kakashi's comrades.
The Obito he knew wouldn't do that but this and that Obito are ultimately the same in one.
And then there's this manga page too.
Kakashi who gets to see Obito come back to himself. Become that person he had admired as his personal hero again because no matter how hard Obito has fallen from grace, he'll still always be who he always was. At least to Kakashi.

not even kidding be SO earnest. Be so honest and forthcoming about your life, your feelings in the pursuit of connection with others, and know being as earnest as possible in your experience is what quells loneliness in those who feel the same way as you do. Is what helps us feel seen. And builds community and resolve within the fact it doesn't have to feel so lonely and insurmountable. we need community and connection. You really are not as alone as you think, we're all scared. we need to hold each others hands

say what you will about jensen ackles but in 2005 he made the active decision to pitch dean’s voice lower not because he felt like dean’s voice was naturally low but because JDM’s voice was low and he thought dean would try to talk like his dad
he’s the ultimate dean studies enthusiast. he said dean is a performer from day One.
